The 4s don't cancel out, they reduce to 1. You want the leading coefficient to be a 1.

Once again, why is numerical coefficient(4) and the common divisor(4) on the left side of the equation being cancelled out? What is the real theory behind this?

@u2betime08 Sorry for the necropost, but the reason the 1 isn't included under the variable is because the a/1 = a (an algebra-based rule). However, why the other 1 is cancelled out is completely unknown to me.
