If you get all the athletes from those counties you should compete every year for the national title. Also, Notre Dame is private and small, 8 National titles.

Miami has 4 players in the NFL hall of fame-fact. Many other schools have a lot more in the HOF. Actually Miami had alot going for it in the 80's.....playing as an independent they had easy schedules. Yes they played 3 tough games a year, but they also played lots of cupcakes. Miami fans don't get that. Good day "cuz".

I have followed the Canes for 30+ years. **So you are very proud of the nickname "The U". Anyway you keep thinking that Miami had "all the odds against it"? which makes no sense because the Broward/Dade/Palm Beach counties area has some of the best high school football in the country. If you get all the athletes from those counties you should compete every year for the national title. Also, Notre Dame is private and small, 8 National titles.

Have never even won their division in the ACC in 8 seasons......can't remember the last time they won 10 games? They had a nice run, but far from greatest school ever. Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and USC have far richer histories that UM. and more championships.

Boston College, Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia on the road and as for Out Of Conference play they have AT Kansas State, Notre Dame at Soldier Field (Chicago) in October, South Florida at home and Bethune Cookman at home. Bethune Cookman and Duke are the only gimme wins I see there.

Yeah I'm with mitchmyre17 on this one. Miami dominated college football in 2001, but I think that team was their best ever. When you think about it, if Miami didn't get snubbed in 2000 they probably would have beaten Oklahoma, if they had played better in the '03 Fiesta Bowl and there wasn't the phantom interference call they would have won.
So Miami could have won it 3 straight years, maybe even 4 if not for the VT game in '03.
Imagine that... Champs from 2000-2003. Oh what could have been.

@domster3 Pretty sure I never made any excuse for the mediocre Gators this year. In fact I never say that it was all Tebow from 06-09, actually UF had great defense, special teams and also offense. I have no excuse whatsoever for the Gator being "bad" this year. I still support them as I do the Canes. I've had to live with UM being mediocre for 7 years now. I wish they could win an ACC championship or at least go to the ACC CG. 8 years and counting in the ACC.

@therototube2 What does the NFL have to do with Miami being mediocre the last 5-7 years? Miami can't even win it's division in the ACC, let alone win the Conference. 8 years in the ACC and never even won its division? Any respect there?

@knightguy11 It's simple. Coaching. Shannon was a great defensive mind...but a HORRIBLE Head Coach. Golden is turning it around, and if you don't already see it, you will. He has the right work ethic to put us on top again, but we just have to make it through this off-season when he'll certainly be on PSU's short list after Joe Pa says adios.
The NFL has nothing to do with our status in your mind. However, it shows we've had mad talent but nobody to TRULY lead the way. We do now.

@therototube2 UM has not had "mad talent" the last 5 years. A couple of good pros but not many. I think UM had 1 guy drafted in 2009...Last ro
