@hyckou Yes they are reffering to a deer (animal) and the reason they chose that is because this song is based on a passage of scripture (the Bible) Psalm 42:1 "As the hart (deer) panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." which references a deer, and when it says 'panteth' it's basically saying the same thing as desires, thirsts, hungers for etc.. I suffer a disease that I never know if I will wake up every time I sleep. I have been severely depressed over the last weeks/months. Going to bed has been like walking to a death sentence every night - then it is cruelly put on me again as I wake up to do it all over again. I have taken to putting off sleep as long as possible til I am too exhausted to stay up. Two nights I broke down and cried for hours - a grown man. maybe if i didn't join singles for christ here in the philippines, i wouldnt know this song.. also one way jesus and god of this city.. when i heard as the deer in a cappella with my fellow who is disgusting, i ignored this song but upon watching this video with nice musical accompaniment, i instantly like it.. as the deer makes me cry and reflects im a sinful person.. that my faith is just shallow :(

@hyckou Yes they are reffering to a deer (animal) and the reason they chose that is because this song is based on a passage of scripture (the Bible) Psalm 42:1 "As the hart (deer) panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God." which references a deer, and when it says 'panteth' it's basically saying the same thing as desires, thirsts, hungers for etc.. Hope this helped explain it good enough, thanks! :)

Every since I was born this song has always ment so much or me. As a baby my mum played this for me to but me to sleep and even now, 12 years later, this song still makes me feel so calm and comforts me when I need it most. I have grown up as a Christian and at twelve my bond with God could do with a lot of improvement. But I know I will not stop trying and God will NEVER give up on me. One thing I ove so much about God is that we can worship him in so many different ways and they still count!

Will your scientists and professors give you a good enough excuse when you're standing face to face with the creator of the universe and He asks you who your Lord is? A group of psychiatrists interviewed a dozen victims of sexual abuse at the hands of Christian clergy. They found that the abused people recovered well from their physical abuse but interestingly they unanimously reported that the psychological abuse of being brought up a Christian in the first place caused them much more harm and they have not yet recovered from that psychological abuse.

@AtheistSongs The Bible says to 'taste and see that the Lord is good.' This is kind of an old timey way of saying 'don't knock it 'til you've tried it.' Did you know you could make yourself believe something tastes terrible by presuppositions alone? You see it, you don't get it, it looks unattractive, it must taste terrible. And with that mind set, it will taste terrible. But if you, with a fair and unbiased mind, get a taste of God, you will see that He is good, and worth being talked about. :)

I suffer a disease that I never know if I will wake up every time I sleep. I have been severely depressed over the last weeks/months. Going to bed has been like walking to a death sentence every night - then it is cruelly put on me again as I wake up to do it all over again. I have taken to putting off sleep as long as possible til I am too exhausted to stay up. Two nights I broke down and cried for hours - a grown man. This song helped me today - It's all about Him... not me. Thank you.

@AtheistSongs That hasn't happened yet, and isn't true. After the days of Noah, people stopped following God, and stopped telling their children about God. Abraham probably didn't know much about God, but God spoke to him out of the blue, and asked him to follow him. God speaks to people, because he's God.

@AtheistSongs Lol, my friend, God wouldn't vanish if we stopped talking about Him, He would still be there. But more importantly, because God is who He is, we will never stop talking about Him. The fact that we still talk about him, that we still have such a well preserved bible to read and that He has fully stood the test of time is a testament to the fact that He is alive and well.
