  • Everyone was flapping there arms before the plane came to be.

  • а вот нехерь кричать что надо срочно

    зато летает XD

  • how did they get the airplane in the air in the first part?

  • @TheAppleRock they borrowed one of Santa's reindeer to pull the plane along.

  • Comment removed

  • EDS more like Idiots.

  • Now THAT'S what I call "on the fly"!

  • How did they start it lol were they flying on nothing in the sky?

  • Too funny! The best advertising makes a person laugh.

  • exactly like my actual project

  • shitty video

  • wtf ?

  • This is an awesome video. :D

  • The programmers keep building, the director or the client were the responsibles for putting the airplane on the air..

  • This sounds so familiar.

Oh hey, this is the newest MS-Windows (or EA/Activision-Game). Buy it now, and we might actually finish programming and debugging in the next thousand patches..

  • Actually, this feels like a parody about programmers. But speaking about critical systems like medics related system, train traffic system, or even an control system for airplane like the one in this commercial, those system would hardly ever built this way.

  • @goodgoodgoodful Certainly...

  • I think I will keep driving until the plane is finished, thanks. :)

  • 24 product owners disliked the truth.

  • it tells everything, its XP, using it while its in develop process

    excelent ;)

  • fake

  • @XenOtai rly? lol.

  • "I love this job" -- and the blank / sad expression afterward. BRILLIANT!

  • Yeah, now do that with a submarine!

  • В натуре так и есть -) Сайт по ходу работы до делываеш ....)

  • @Uxenus так у всех

  • so true LOL!!!!

  • How did they get it in the air in the first place???

  • @spookymcfuzzy its called after effects

  • @spookymcfuzzy using compiler dude

  • Hrm. Except, isn't that saying that whoever it's an advertisement for sucks, because they can't put the plane together before it's actually necessary?

  • haha :D

    Really Cool

  • 0:37 :D

  • with a better planning and management, the airplane would have been built and tested before making it to fly, with people on board...

the perfect demonstration of how "programmers" work: in emergency status, thinking just about "right here and right now"...

  • with a better planning and management, they can do a better planning and management.

  • I am a programmer I have make a plane

  • When I grow up, I want to be an programmer!

  • When I grow up, I want to be an airplane!

  • I want to grow up in an airplane!

  • I'm on the same path you are just a little bit older (19) =)

I recommend you to grab a copy of Visual Basic Express (free) and give it a try, doesn't matters if you don't know what to do, you'll end up finding out! Believe me, it's very easy and you'll love to see your first programs running! There's also a language called SmallBasic which is even easier but not used too much and more of a fun teaching language.

  • I wanna fart on miley cyrus

  • you have a bit of a fetish dont you

  • Fuck you u simple minded cunt! You sit and watch on your pc that NERDS made and had to programme for idiots like you, matter of fact there is a special edition for tits like you, it's called FOR DUMMIES

  • nerd!

  • Actually its called Windows ME.

  • go back to the Macintosh era

by the way, is that honestly the BEST you can come up with? I'd bet that a horses ass could come up with something more compelling.

  • yes

i am in fact a nerd

and i am probably having a hell of a lot more fun in life

good luck baggin' my groceries when nerds take over the high paying jobs

  • Wow great way to steal a line. Your not a nerd. Your a loser.

  • ХD )))))

  • awesome

  • ahaha...!

  • Haha i love this every time

Also I just started a new blog about my career into game programming! Hope you can check it out at CodeJustin(.)com!

  • I will. I'm aiming for that career as well.

  • It's very obvious none of you have ever worked for EDS.

If that were a realistic advert it would have burst into flames the second they finished it, 5 years late and 3 times over budget.

  • @thatbigfella LOL

  • @thatbigfella Sooooooooooo damn true!

  • wow!! i love it!! best commercial ever!!

    <33

  • Besst commerecial ever :) 5/5

  • aww i thought it was going to end with the "EA games, challenge everything" logo.

  • No, if it was EA games they would have built half the plane and sold it at the price of a whole one.

  • the rest of the plane would be DLC, right?

  • WIN!!!

  • LOL. The song is a rendition of 'All Glory Told: loool. (LOL toastface...?)

  • haha. So true, so true.

  • Oh, this is the famous company I've heard about. I think they build windmills from the top->down too.

  • dont they start a bridge in the middle as well?

  • I hope you're kidding.

  • nice to meet you Captain Obvious

  • Doesn't make you any smarter.

  • lol

  • just because we say that it is awesome does not mean that we think it is real. Fag. That is obvious.

  • Cool advert. Sh1t company.

  • That is awesome

  • And what planet are you people from? Haha, is it real? Sheesh...

  • this is fake

    right?

  • of cause not

    this is for real

  • yeah i mean thee are actual people there, you cant fake that. oh and your going to tell me they faked the wind too? yeah right, you cant see a fan

  • also this site looks like real youtube site, not some fake one

and the Latin alphabet that we do use looks like not a fake

    "pressing non-fake post comment button"

  • but i don't that they would have people sitting there and they are giving them coffee and all that stuff and what happens if they dont make it in time see my point

  • oh i get it never minde joeltemp explained it i feel stupid haha

  • only a retard would ask. ;-)

  • well...who knows.. anyways, how about you sending me your credit card info?

it should be in your wallet.

  • Perfect analog. And when the IT team has bailed the crew vind out they can not land and have to call support for fixing the bodge job themselfes.

  • Ha ha ha ha! ... I love the metaphor: they have chutes and can bail out at anytime... leaving the passengers behind!

  • lol and thats why all your early customers get boned

  • I actually agree with him. While it was a fun commercial, the metaphor is really not that great, since it implies that they ship software that hasnt been completed...

  • EDS doesn't ship software at all, they outsource IT services, and yes, working with some of these companies who are working while you are building their IT infrastructure is a lot like building planes in the sky.

  • And, having been part of it for years-anyone should avoid it. This ad captures the "duh" of this corporation perfectly.

  • Nice advert...

  • Microsoft!

  • So using it while it's still being built... Sounds like most software to me.

  • GREAT commercial :)

  • hilarious! :D

  • Obviously this is built using the (Fr)agile programming paradigm. I would not get on that plane if you paid me...No-one has tested it!

  • Very creative.

  • this was a triumph

  • lolol

  • Its hard to overstate my satisfaction.

  • with a plane like that you wouldnt be able to crash

  • truth as hell damn!

  • hehe, i would do that if it wasent impossible

  • Me too!! wahahaha

    btw

    im an A&P..

we dont weld an aircraft skin.. LOL!

  • haha

  • lol, i wonder if people do build in the sky lol

  • naaa

  • naaa

  • ow they used parts from james bond :p

    when the airplane is broken

  • truth, just truth :)

  • so truth.. in some way sad.. but if i look at it from the other hand... I'll be laughin'

  • LOL :D cała prawda :P

  • Damn fuck*n' truth. I love it.

  • :) so true :)

  • hehehe dobre

  • What does the guy say in the sentence after 10th second?

  • I grew up wanting to be on a wing,

  • lol

  • nice Title.. >>

  • I want that job lol

  • lmao!

  • Great commercial. One of the first, real, innovative commercials I've seen in a while. Thanks!

  • lol ,great advert...really great

  • wow, that makes a lot of sense, make the plane in the air rather than on the ground....lol

  • Looks like Boeng have done it already, one crashed (no casualties) in UK.

  • that was a great advertisment and really cool

  • Thats a great advert, I wonder if anyone actually thought company built planes in the sky

  • how is the name of the song in the Background????

    thx...

  • they probley meant to say what... but they could have down syndrom and said how instead

  • tat? sence? Go back to school. Please.

  • don't laugh at people the same as you

  • We don't laugh at people, we laugh at the way they show us... Because we are the same as they are aren't we?

  • lol at the lady trying to pour the guy coffee xP

  • If it was made by Micro$haft it would be very popular but fall out of the sky mid flight.

  • not before the red lights...

  • righ, the CGI plane is the B-757, .... ....

  • well duh, i was kidding.

  • weird if u could really make a plane in the air that would be cool

  • funny

  • lol

  • either your dumb as rocks or you're kidding......i really really hope its the latter

  • They are not.

  • somebody should fall!!! heaeha

  • they had to cut it out at the end, but a parachute failed and a guy plummeted to earth...

  • "If programmers have make a plane"... dude, grammer.

  • But spelling mistakes are ok! (Y)

  • if that was a real representation of what programmers do, you'd see them spending half the time trying to work out the bugs, like trying to figure out why the plane is flying upside down.

  • That's pretty much whqat you get with EDS...a bunch of half-wits who only know how to do things half-assed.

  • Бггг:)) Шикарно!!!

  • lol!! auhauhauhaua

  • The original quote that led to this recurring analogy didn't equate (re-)building planes while in flight to programming, but rather internet engineering, which is a much more accurate comparison.

In addition to all the things you'd think about with programming, the added twist with internet engineering is you're using the network you're modifying in order to access the routers and deploy your changes.

  • Having worked with an Aerodynamics engineer, I totally get it.

Programmers build things by the seat of their pants and build on the fly.

Engineers plan for years in CAD and run the numbers before building.

For me, this is the Aerodynamics guy making fun of us po' gammers.

  • Right on. This is just a perfect representation on what it means to work on a running beta version of something...

  • What does this video have to do with programmers? You could have named it anything. How about "If PM's have make a plane" or "If executives have make a plane"

Whatever point you are trying to make is totally lost.

  • I'm a programmer and I totally get it. It's a basic programmers humor. Sometimes developing system looks like building a plane in the air. Especially when users start to install first beta versions. This guy trying to run the "juice feature" is a great example of that. :D

  • nice ;]

  • Congratulations! =)
