The Archduque was a pacifist that worked hard to calm the military and other war parties that wanted to teach Serbia a lesson and put an end to terrorist attacks. I never argued Canada's history was unlike the US, however the US has participated in many more wars than Canada, and what else would you expect from a country founded on war? And yes, again I admit that the US has historically had more military success than Canada, practice makes perfect.

Oh and just a note, indeed the US did participate in a war against Russia, in foreign interventionists to fight during the Russian Civil war in 1918, another war you "Quit."

True, but they did use military demonstrations to intimidate the country in 1851, just as they did in Japan in 1853, forcing them to obey the United States, it's this kind of stripping of other countries sovereignty using a superior military that I was referring too. It was essentially international bullying.

Nations all over the world were doing this at the time in a larger and more overt way, best example is Britain, France, Germany and Japan. America isn't anything new in its history and it shouldn't be treated as such. The only crimes they have to answer for are their current ones, that is all.

They do have a reason for their intervention around the globe, just like the British believed they had a reason, or any-other major empire to be honest, and beyond the moral argument, could you imagine how much worse some of these countries would look like without intervention? Thank you for posting these . I vividly recall watching on TV as a youngster . The quality of film is remarkable and the BBC was the master documentary maker back then .
