@kiyotaka173 Ryan plays a weakling game... cuz.. well, he's a weakling. And being a weakling, he still whooped Tavares. His game it great. Macacao or Terere couldn't play it.. they are too muscular. This is small man's game. You can always smash on a small man. But Ryan's style avoids nearly all the weaknesses of being a little guy. You can't stack him. It's very hard to be offensive in his deep half guard. It takes a game like Cobrinha's to manhandle him without slippin up
Yes, I too can attest to his top game abilities. He is NOT one dimensional, he just uses his highest percentage moves for competition. He is the future....
Lol I don't think ive ever seen you win a match from the top. We know your leg locks from the 50/50 are devastating, but where are the rest of your skills? I want to see some arm bars from mount or side control (or even a knee on belly)
Ryan has a top game believe me. He uses his top game to set up his back take/bottom game.(i.e. rolling back take and brabo choke pass) he could beat anyone from the top if he wanted to. He knows the guard is he really shines so thats what he does. Its playing to your strengths. Strategy and technique win fights not force of will. In fact he beat David Jacobs with a triangle he set up from the top. You dont get a brown belt under anyone legit without having both top and bottom games.
(cont. from prev.) Its like a top game guy looking to submit 1st from the bottom. They would look for a sweep first believe me. Now if the sweep sets up the submission than yes you take it but you have to play YOUR game. And who actually wins competitions from knee on belly seriously?? Thats a street fight position so you can pound a guy and still be in an upright position thus, if his friends show you can run very quickly.
dimi, Ryan just won 3 matches at a tourney less than a month ago with snap downs, singles, a RNC, and two darce choks, one from the Knee on Belly position.
Once again, there's no stopping Ryan Hall! Even so, I don't understand why he's seemingly overly patient. It looked as if in the beginning, he had a straight ankle lock ready to go, but just didn't even try to pull it. Hmmm...that seemed very odd to me. But either way, he's still the man.
Hache is good, but nowhere near Hall's level anymore. In fact, Hache lost to Daniel Tavares (the black belt in this match) at the GQ prior to this one. Soooo...you might want to chill out with the harping on a couple losses at blue belt that are no longer relevant.

Really bad start to fall into rear control like that, BUT a great one to watch.
Question to Ryan: "What's the most you have lost in training time due to a submission injury?

All at blue belt and not since March 2006. Hall has beaten him all 4 times at purple belt and their credentials aren't even remotely comparable.
