And not to nick pick but I still don't think this is a good apples to apples comparison. I can't see a guy who's looking to buy an HK also looking at a glock, or vice versa. I think these to guns are in two totally different catagorys. A lot more time, design and money went into making the USP over the glock. Now a sig 229 and an HK, that would be a good apples to apples comparison. I realize there both not polymer guns but I think there better counterparts.
Good vid but I think something important got missed. USP has a fully supported chamber the glock does not. Something to think about if your gonna be shooting hotter loads. And with regards to ergonomcs, if you have larger hands the glock 23 may not fit. I had to take a dremel tool to undercut the trigger guard on my glock 19.
My two cents my buddy owns a firing range on the gun rentals he replaces the glocks barrel 4 times before the hks need it after being shot the same number of times
ive owned both the glock 23 and currently own uspc .40 stainless. hands down hk uspc is still my personal carry for many reasonsnot listed in his review

Don't like the HK trigger? I find the standard Glock triggers to be LOADED with creep. Of course, you get used to where it breaks after shooting the same gun enough, but man... HK triggers are tough to criticize... short reset, clean break.

To those looking to buy a HK pistol I say this: I keep my USPc .40 because it has the stainless slide. As a US Marine and CCW Permit holder I recommend the following HK handguns: P2000 or (sk) in .357 or .40 cal, HK45c and lastly the USPc in .40. The full size handguns have fat grips compared to the compact and are literally cannons on your side when trying to conceal. Good luck with your buys and enjoy your HKs! Feel free to message me if you have any questions about them.
Sir these are nice videos and all but I don't agree on some of your points. I've owned both Glock 23 and a USPc. The rear sight on the standard Glock is a partial box and more difficult to use than the 3-dot system standard on the USPc. This along with the USPc's polygonal rifling make for a more accurate gun. The USP is shorter despite its added width which makes it easier to conceal. Glock, by Austrian design, uses that small slide release because it's based on Euro-style handgun training whi

I think the USP compact should be compared with the Sig p229. Sig vs. HK and Glock vs. Springfield. That comparison is more fair but a p229 is heavier than USPc and we all know how much you care about weight so you would never compare those two. I never got why you preach weight so much but love the Sig and rag on a HK when they are lighter than Sigs. Even the newer Sigs are going down the crapshoot in QC but HK keeps it's same high standard QC.
@TheLiveRacing uh the glock 23 isn't chambered in .45 acp buddy. Glocks are cool but HKs are badass. The usp compact .45 has become my favorite gun due to its superior accuracy and power. If you've shot a one, you'd know that. Get your facts straight.
The H&K is an okay gun. I have the LE version for obvious reasons. I do get a nice group out of the gun, but actually do a bit better with a Springfield; personal preferences. I have seen the magazine issue during qualification runs after a line of fire that required an emergency reload. I get around it by checking the base plate while loading. A training facility in Artesia sent 2000 rounds had a FTF, cleaned the feed ramp and kept on testing it until the ramp got clogged up again.
No point in watching his videos when he compares a gun to a glock because glock always wins lol...My opinion he should compare the glock with the springfield xd since the price is the same...H&K build quality is just top notch as well as the Sigs..Glocks are very good guns and very reliable but so is the H&K USP...Can't go wrong with either gun...
I have both the full size and compact glock and usp models. Both are great weapons. Personally I prefer the HK. For my hand the ergo's are better all the way around and the safety/decocker lever mimmicks the 1911 style. I like the HK factory mag release better. Had to change the glock to a vickers tactical extended release to fit my hand, although it is more of a training issue with either. A thorough review but take it with a grain of salt as he will ALWAYS choose the Glock to anything else.
It sure seemed to me that the HK was given a pass on several occasions during the comparison. Personal preference will always win out. But, in an unbiased comparison the Glock is better. Live with it!
The only downsides to the USP is price, and the slide being a bit...tall. It's kinda top heavy. I love my USP compact a lot and they are great guns. I am sorry Nutn, but with all due respect, you are a bit biased towards Glock. lol. You can't really compare a Glock to a H&K. That's like comparing VW to Mercedes Benz. Both are great, but the Mercedes is..a Mercedes. Sorry, that's just my opinion. Glocks are great guns with a great price, but everyone and their brother has one! :)
Hey nutinfancy I have a question about my glock 23 gen 3 I bought about a week ago it's a exo model I bought it brand new I put about 30 rounds through it and the shell casings would hit my face every time I don't know if it is the ammo or the spring guide rod or the extractor I just don't know the ammo I was using was Megtech I never experienced this with my other glocks can u give ur advise on that please
Both are great guns, if you like striker fire get a glock if you like Double-action get the USP, both are reliable and accurate, shoot both and decide for yourself. Only major difference i see is the price
I’m sorry nutnfancy I’m a huge fan but this was the most one sided video series you have ever made. If you don’t believe me watch your video again and listen your criticism and jabs about HK shooters.
I thought the hk had a double action/ single action. where you can carry it like a 1911 locked and cocked with the safety on. therefore making it a single action. Just a thought...
@wingedspure This is true, however I'm pretty sure when he says Double Action he really means DA/SA. I have the HK, and I've test fired it against the G23 and the Sig version of compact .40 S&W. I think it was the 250 or 220. Sorry but H&K wins, its why I bought it. It's the thinnest of all three, rivalled only by a 1911, which is perfect of my little bitch hands, and to CCW.
More weight means less recoil, and also the H&K has a better gas recoil system also leading to less recoil. Glock is lighter but when shooting the H&K is smoother due to the gas recoil and weight. I prefer H&K. Watch this video from theARMORYchannel, HK USP 40. COMPACT
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Thank god im not in the US. The American obsession with guns is not healthy or civilised. I mean guns are tools for killing ok... killing in the most effecient/quickest way possible. Guns are not for anything else. There is nothing cool or special about guns. America im sorry but you will never be cilvilised, you will never be first world so long as the 2nd amendment still exists.
@TheDevineBeing If there is nothing cool or special about guns then why are you watching the video? Troll.
We Americans will always be free because of our constitutionally protected right to defend ourselves and our way of life. You don't like it- tough. Stay over on your side of the ocean.
All of the HK fanboys seem hurt. Relax, they're both excellent. One man's opinion shouldn't make you cry. Suck it up. Just because it costs so much doesn't mean nutnfancy is going to like it more. You call him biased to Glock but you are all clearly biased to HK. Cry more.
Soooo stupid. He must own stock in GLOCK. Glocks are nothing more than glorified Hi-Points. The only reason cops use glocks is because their magazines can be used in their 'back-up ' weapon. HK's SOCOM is used my the Special Forces....they dont even bother with Glock. HK is the pioneer in polymer framed pistols starting all the way back to the VP-70. Some people i think make videos just to hear themselves talk. This guy doesnt know shit about guns and should quit wasting peoples time.
Glock has mastered simplicity haha. all their pistols are made up of two buttons, a switch for diss-assembly and a trigger. how do you get any simpler (i can admit that, and i'm nowhere close to being a glock fan)
while I love Glock and own many. that was one of the most bias reviews I have ever seen, and to say the are "equal" in Durability/reliability, and at one point you said Glock is more durable. Is just laughable! Its like comparing a Cadillac to a Rolls Royce! Both are great cars, But the Rolls is just built to a higher standard and uses better materials. You have broke down these guns many times as many of us have, and with a straight face you are gonna say HK internals are no better than Glock's?
Nutnfancy where have you been the past few months, not sending my email inbox lots of love. Silly me forgot to re sub when I re created my youtube account. :(
All is not lost. *Re-sub* It's good to be back on the channel of the great.
I got the H&K USP Compact 9mm. Excellent pistol. I like Glock, but I like the whole concept of the H&K better. It was between that and the Walther P99 and the Glock 19.
How can glock mag release be better - it's one sided vs two. What if my shoulder is shot. Also - I assume you mean a "newer glock" or "not this glock" which I didn't hear you say when you talk about accessories. Glock is a reliable brick - hk is a sexy ambidextrous not as reliable shooter. They are booth nice, but I think it's we more personal then you think. Good review. Thanks for educating us.
I could be wrong here but isnt it correct to compare the hk usp to an older rail-less glock? I mean if you went with a newer updated model of the glock why not compare the newer to an hk 45 or hk p30.
Very nice video. i too prefeer the G23 IF (and only if) we are talking about a 3rd gen glock.
If were talking Gen4. then there is no contest for me. i prefeer HK.
im not talking just about reliability (lets not even go there), i just dont like a gun that forces me to wear a full face protection MASK while i fire it, because it keeps throwing hot brass at my face like the gen4 glocks do.
HKs magazine release is a PITA I totaly agree with that also I don't like the magazines espec. the shoe, but I like its trigger pull and its look better. Anyway one vs one the Glock comes out top. A
USP will kick the SHIT out of them fucking piece of shit glocks. I had a G-23 and even after breaking it in, it jammed with Winchester .40 supreme elite PDX-1 rounds every 4th shot. As my USP didn't have a issue unloading a full mag in the RAIN. My S&W Sigma is also more reliable than my G-23, but its trigger pull sucks. I sold that piece of shit glock the 3rd day i had it.
I want to like Glocks, but they just don't work for me. I've found the USP is, for me personally, a better pistol. I use a semi rigid nylon belt with a Comp-Tac IWB and it works great for me.
@cronocoffin Yes. Plus, Glock does not incorporate a recoil reduction system equivalent to the USP's system, which is proven to reduce recoil in all models, all calibers, by at the least 30 %.
Good work on the second strike decision. If the extra round in a glock can save your life, what do you think tap, rack and fire on the glock is going to do in a life or death situation?
I own both guns in full size version and they are great guns, but you (Nutfancy) are way of from being objective. You always favors Glocks over any other gun no matter what...
@WertronPR I'm curious, witch one of his comments was wrong? those about the weight? the accessories? the firepower? the price? I'm still trying to decide between both pistols, but those metrics seems like prety straightforward and quantifiable facts, I'm not sure how subjective someone could be about them... But please enlighten me.
@WertronPR I don't mean to disrespect you, but the reason he chooses the Glock is because it is a superb design, there is a reason it is the most popular gun for police and military forces in the world.
nutnfancy gives the best reviews period, and unbiased at that. Plus I love the list of qualifications that the gun has to meet and the grading of those qualities. With his complete reviews and with Hickok45 actually shooting the guns and proving the accuracy (On his own completely unrelated channel of course). I have seen and heard only good things about Glock firearms and have no idea why someone would talk trash about them. Theyre reliable, accurate, priced fair, interchangable mags, and more.
great video. i wish there were more people on youtube that are not idiots and have the brains to put stuff like that in a review video like you did. great job! i am subscribing!
Having owned both a USP compact in .40 and a glock 23 in .40, I would overall have to go with the glock as well, mostly because of my mode of use. Yes, with the HK I can consistantly engage targets with combat groupings at 75 yards and beyond with reasonably slow fire (not with the glock). But the high bore line and muzzle rise of the HK make fast and accurate follow up shots at close range much more difficult. Balance of Speed and Accuracy (BSA) is MUCH easier for me to obtain with the glock..
Do you work for Glock? I own both a Glock 21 and a USP Tactical, and while the Glock is an alright gun, my USP will easily outshoot that gun in terms of accuracy any day. There's a reason H&K's more expensive, they make a higher quality gun.
nutn' referred to the inability of 2nd strike capability as being a "striker fire" trigger consideration. i have a sw99 (pretty much walther p99) which is striker fire but i CAN pull the trigger a 2nd time (in double action obv). can any1 on here clarify this for me? (ie why sw99 can and glock cannot)
I like my USP but it's the full length barrel. It doesn't have that mag problem like the compact does. I'm sure that Glock has many advantages in the handgun category, but HK wins the rifle category obviously. The reason I choose HK over Glock is simply the looks aren't gay like the Glock. If I wanted a compact gun I wouldn't choose either of them because there are plenty of guns out there that are better for conceil carry. Just my opinions about the two.
The navy seals don't only carry a mark 23 they carry what they are more comfortable with it could be glock, sig, a 1911 or hk next time do your homework oh and Navy SEALs are not special forces they are a special operations force special forces is for army navy SEALs is USSOCOM
Wait, there's "probably some LE in Europe" that use H&K? Really? Way to think out of your backyard... I think someones forgetting the fact that unlike Glock, H&K has a very vast amount of military units worldwide it sells too, let alone civilians. Anyway you always talk about "how you train" Dont really see anything special... or should I say "nutnspecial"
@MrKimberCrazy Navy SEALs are special forces, they carry whatever their preference is or what is best suited for a mission they might go on. so they could carry a Glock, Sig, HK, Colt....etc
I got a usp compact .45 and glock 30. I like both they're two totally different guns. I do like the fact that I can put 13 and 27 round mags in my glock though .
LOL who's the retard that said the USP is more powerful? You obviously do not know anything. The grain count might have been different in the shells or you might be talking about the full sized USP which fires a .45 instead of a .40 in the compact version. If you are going to troll, at least get your shit straight.
I carried a glock for many years and loved it before changing employers and then carried a sig.. I loved the glocks.. I am now looking to purchase a personal 40 cal hand gun and your video has confirmed to me that Glock is STILL the better choice.. 2nd strike?? seems like a waste of time for me.. if it didnt fire the first time what makes you think it will the 2nd, or the 3rd... tap rack and ready gun
Man I want a gun, but I live in Canada, and they are illegal...and under the table glocks go for $2200 - $3500...sigh, I guess ill just collect paintball guns...
@TdotClappa Dude i got the same shit in my country i can buy the guns but there are so much rules and you know what automatice guns are illegal and almost paintball guns too if it even look like a gun its illegal. stupid country i think i need to move to the USA
I'm NOT a gun user in any way (in fact I'm really only and "airsofter") but with my (replica) USP I have found that it is more efficient to use your middle finger and come up to the mag release (but then again I'm no expert). just wanted to give 2¢. Thanks nutnfancy for your reviews.
I own both a HK USP and Glock 23. Both are good but i'll take HK over the Glock any day. HK for me is much more acurate and less recoil. I don't know if its the way im holding it, but every glock I fire tends to hurt my index finger under the trigger guard when it recoils.
I own a H&K USP .40, and I personally like the H&K better than the Glock (although the glock is great). I actually like the magazine release on it, and I never have a problem with it. One thing that I really like about the H&K is the slide release. I fire left handed and I can lock it back with my left index finger easily. I have alot of trouble locking back (and releasing) the slide on a glock when firing left handed. I also do not like the steep angle of the grip on the glock.

I like a small gun to weigh a little more...it helps with recoil. You can make a gun very light, but heavier ones seems sturdier. I have shot my USP over 5,000 times and have not had a single malfunction. It looks better than the Glock too! I give the win easily to the HK.
You said, "striker fired, therefore no second strike capability". That is true of Glocks, M&Ps, XDs, and most other striker fired guns; However, the Taurus 24/7 & Millennium Pro, as well as some Walther P99 variants have "second strike" capability as striker fired weapons.
Truth be told, the USP feels better for me. Based on my own experience with firearms. I'm a little more comfortable with the slightly sturdier structure of the USP than the Glock. But the trigger issue can be fixed. For mine, I replaced it with a HK Expert trigger (just need to remove some small parts to get it to fit). And it feels great and works a lot better too (:
Having owned a Glock and currently owning a HK USP Compact I would take the HK over the Glock w/o hesitation. In fact, I would take just a FN FNH/FNP, a Smith & Wesson M&P and even a Springfield XD (maybe) over the Glock. Yeah, I know it's all personal preference, but personally I don't like Glocks.
@GettinDemDollaz Thats because glocks are the only pistol that have been dropped in volcanos, ran over by army tanks, ran through a saw mill, shoved up a camels ass, and has shot 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, rounds with out failure..... LOL yeah, over rated pistol. though i own one I DONT HAVE THE SUCK MY COCK I OWN A GLOCK ATTITUDE.
@tadgodsey How is it bias? If he's comparing the two, the fact that he's comparing them kinda implies that one is going to come out on top as he sees it, doesn't it? Rarely will two compared items end up being equal. I have several makes of guns and I compare every new gun I get to the others I have, and none of them are equal. Doesn't make any of them bad, just variants of the same thing.
@grizz474 I suppose you are right. Whatever gun fits you best isn't really biased. Maybe I was assuming that because he said a couple times that the glock was and older version and the more recent ones all have standard mounting etc. I was thinking that the USP is also an older model and is obsolete compared to the new HK45. However, I did watch the video again and he really didnt seem all that biased and made sure to be objective.
@tadgodsey Biased toward Glock? Well if you own an H&K you would think so, but I feel as though Glock makes a great firearm and if even by a small difference on each measure, better is better...
And not to nick pick but I still don't think this is a good apples to apples comparison. I can't see a guy who's looking to buy an HK also looking at a glock, or vice versa.

@theslamminsammon Agreed! Plus the glock should have clearly won in all categories is this vid.

A thorough review but take it with a grain of salt as he will ALWAYS choose the Glock to anything else.
matt4055 2 months ago

Hardheadedsob2000 3 months ago
Both are great guns, if you like striker fire get a glock if you like Double-action get the USP, both are reliable and accurate, shoot both and decide for yourself. Only major difference i see is the price

jasojeep 3 months ago
I thought the hk had a double action/ single action. where you can carry it like a 1911 locked and cocked with the safety on. therefore making it a single action. Just a thought...
wingedspure 3 months ago

COMPACT

DirtMcGirt440 4 months ago

How can glock mag release be better - it's one sided vs two. What if my shoulder is shot. Also - I assume you mean a "newer glock" or "not this glock" which I didn't hear you say when you talk about accessories. Glock is a reliable brick - hk is a sexy ambidextrous not as reliable shooter. They are booth nice, but I think it's we more personal then you think. Good review. Thanks for educating us.

I sold that piece of shit glock the 3rd day i had it.

broadleaf81 8 months ago
Having owned both a USP compact in .40 and a glock 23 in .40, I would overall have to go with the glock as well, mostly because of my mode of use. Yes, with the HK I can consistantly engage targets with combat groupings at 75 yards and beyond with reasonably slow fire (not with the glock). But the high bore line and muzzle rise of the HK make fast and accurate follow up shots at close range much more difficult. Balance of Speed and Accuracy (BSA) is MUCH easier for me to obtain with the glock..
broadleaf81 8 months ago
Do you work for Glock? I own both a Glock 21 and a USP Tactical, and while the Glock is an alright gun, my USP will easily outshoot that gun in terms of accuracy any day. There's a reason H&K's more expensive, they make a higher quality gun.

You said, "striker fired, therefore no second strike capability". That is true of Glocks, M&Ps, XDs, and most other striker fired guns; However, the Taurus 24/7 & Millennium Pro, as well as some Walther P99 variants have "second strike" capability as striker fired weapons.
AnObfuscator 11 months ago
Truth be told, the USP feels better for me. Based on my own experience with firearms. I'm a little more comfortable with the slightly sturdier structure of the USP than the Glock. But the trigger issue can be fixed. For mine, I replaced it with a HK Expert trigger (just need to remove some small parts to get it to fit). And it feels great and works a lot better too (:

tadgodsey 1 year ago 34
@tadgodsey How is it bias? If he's comparing the two, the fact that he's comparing them kinda implies that one is going to come out on top as he sees it, doesn't it? Rarely will two compared items end up being equal. I have several makes of guns and I compare every new gun I get to the others I have, and none of them are equal. Doesn't make any of them bad, just variants of the same thing.
grizz474 1 year ago
@grizz474 I suppose you are right. Whatever gun fits you best isn't really biased. Maybe I was assuming that because he said a couple times that the glock was and older version and the more recent ones all have standard mounting etc. I was thinking that the USP is also an older model and is obsolete compared to the new HK45. However, I did watch the video again and he really didnt seem all that biased and made sure to be objective.
tadgodsey 1 year ago
@tadgodsey Biased toward Glock? Well if you own an H&K you would think so, but I feel as though Glock makes a great firearm and if even by a small difference on each measure, better is better...
