Gorbachev was a traitor to the Union. He looks back on it now and sees how stupid he was to sell out to the Western scum. He wishes he could change the past.
Деловая колбаса такая типа... Но, по крайней мере, он не дурак был: по-моему, он, когда пришел, сразу чухнул, что все, кабздец скоро всему, и решил уже крантики все отвернуть до упора, мол, кули делать, помирать, так с музоном
Ok I am not from Russia or the former soviet republics , But i think Gorbachev had a real chance of changing russia and the world, yes the ussr (cccp) had good principals but just got too corrupt.
Yes. Agree. But so as he had multiple choices to transition to free market economy smoothly. Everyone in Russia knows he made too hasty of decisions to "get there."
Instead his policies were aligned with "friends," as he mentions them, who corrupted the society, bankrupt everyone, and put them on their knees.
Eltsin picked up his "legacy" and catapulted from there.
KGB already knew in late 70's that this transition has to happen. But not that brutal!
What's wrong with his mind?! He doesn't seem to be able to express or complete any thought here. He starts with one sentence, then suddenly jumps to another and then yet to another one without completing any previous thought.
basically what he means is that farmers are not doing their job well, because they are personally not interested. all property is public, and they get their salaries, so they are being lazy asses...roughly said.
but he is the most hated person in the soviet union, the younger generation knows not much about him, but does not hear about him either. one speaks about him more in the west than at home...
"Vremya" was the name of a daily news block at 9 pm Moscow time 20 years ago. So, it was indeed about news. And yes, "vremya" itself means "time" and nothing else.

Well, he's talking about bad situation in soviet agricultural sector. That the only way for peasants to survive is to move to the towns for a job.

Its a pity he did not succeed in reforming the system, he made a lot of political mistakes but socialism is a better system than capitalism

To fix it all for non-Russian speakers:
1- Vremja = "time" or "moment";
2- Pravda = "truth";
3- Novosti = "news";
