Guh, I have Mass Effect 1 and Mass Effect 2. I have to say I did not even play both games with an 1 hour gameplay time. At Mass Effect 1, I was extremely bored. Is that normal? So Do I basically have to play further to experience this so-said "Epicness" of this game?
my personal favoriye things about the first mass effect was learing about the proteans and the reapers i prefered the figting and cover system in the second one and the crew were alot more detailed each with a colourful backstory

Mass effect is a great game with an amazing story line. The main storyline kept me intrested through out the game. the combat system was good although i had trouble with the taking cover part. which wanted to glitch up.
In the vid he said there might be to many side missions, but in my opinion its good to have alot, so that the player can explore the universe learning everything about the story and the different alien species and cultures.

Say, my Mass Effect kinda lags sometimes, you know those awkward movements when you move Shepard around. Is this normal or my disk may have a scratch or something? Or is that the framerate issue?
@Perroramirez im pretty sure its the frame rate. i also notice it durning fast movement cut- scenes and during a snow storm on noveria of feros (i forgot which one it was) im hoping either the 2nd has that fixed or the ps3 version of the 2nd one will play smoothly. other than that its one of the best games ive ever played
this game is good, but felt like it was missing something. it reminded me a lot of knights of the old republic, but without the depth of relationships and moral choices. also the main story is way too short. and the squad ai is a total joke. half the time my team had no idea how to follow me and i had to wait until i was far enough away from them so they would reappear beside me.

I just got the platinum hits version of this game...It came with 18 gamer pictures, a premium theme, an extra episode, 20 song soundtrack and a few documentaries on Mass Effect...I am stoked!!! I would recommend the platinum hits version because its only 19.99...

I got this game few days ago but can't see what all the fuss is about. What is it about weapons like sniper rifles that u can't even use properly. Im about 5 hrs in and the only reliable weapon is the pistol. Also the game is too open ended. I don't know what nebula or planets to select to advance the story. It seems most reviewers think bigger is always better which simply isn't true!
despite coming out before fallout 3, mass effect has superior graphics and better character animations, i absolutely hated the character face models in fallout 3, it looked like a 90's game, it was still a great game and the wasteland graphics were awesome, but they severely short changed the character models, bioware proved with mass effect and dragon age that you can make a good RPG without sacrificing next gen graphics.
You know i thought i would try ME 2 after trying part 1 a long time ago and hating it...couldnt remember why I did though. I ended up loving part 2...best rpg ive played in a very long time. So I went back to one to try it again...and I remembered why i hated it. Very rarely do I want to play a game's story twice but this was one of the few games that made me want to play it again. I actually am putting ME2 on hold until I finish my second play-through. I think if I didn't have ME2 waiting for me I think I would play Me1 a few more times.

lol wow, uh..its how ships travel to different star clusters and nebulas around the galaxy, since ships cant travel very far using fuel(or whatever the hell they use). Basically its their way of travel. U go through the Relay and it instantly(i think) teleports u to a connecting Relay. I dont really know much but thats basically what a relay is and what it does.
BTW: if you download it from games on demand it uses 6,8 GB and my 360 is only a 12 GB version O_O thats why i didn`t download it when i bought it by a misstake....

Even if I don't have the console, I loved playing the game and I'll definitely play the second one.
I really liked how bioware actually was able to create sumthin different, by that I mean that when this came out I thought it was gonna be a rehash of KotOR, but they made sumthin tahts completely new and very differant, i mean you could see sum similarities between kotor and ME1 but those were mainly ther to simplify the game, if u look at other games like cod, and gears, and even god of war, the games that are produced by the same devs, feel and look the exact same, props to bioware 5 out of 5

ok man is just my opinion. i have looked at some of the gameplay for mass effect2 and looks great and one of the reason i say me2 will be better than uc2 is because in me2 you can basically do whatever you want in uc2 you cant do what you want you just stick to the missions which are cool but only for one playthu .

the best part of mass effect is keep your save files cuz next month when mass effect 2 comes out it takes all your story choices save data characters and everything from first one 2 second one
I'm not trying to bash Mass Effect, but I kinda felt that the artistic design was somewhat bland and uninspired. (Same problem I have with Halo) The armor design, aliens, weapons and architecture don't really seem very interesting to me. Don't get me wrong, It's probably a good game, but not really my thing in terms of design.

Look ME is a desent game. I have spent nearly 120 hours playing it when I got bored. But the story is always the same and you dont have that much say in the story.
I prefer Fallout 3 becuse the game gives a lot more freedom.

Have to say, I am playing this game right now, and I only payed $10 and I am ticked I wasted that 10 bucks. The story seems nice, but I can't get past the crappy and I do mean terrible game play. I love RPGs and Fallout and Oblivion are some of my favorite games. I also like some of BioWares games, but this games sucks overall.
You are a fool.....this is one of the best games i've ever played, i too love TES Oblivion, and Fallout but if you really give Mass Effect a try...i mean a REAL try you will find that the story captivates you and the gameplay, albeit annoying early, grows on you, much like how the new fighting system did in FFXII....give it a shot mang
when I posted that I had almost finished the game, and after finishing the game, I have to say that the story was pretty good, but the only weapon worth using is the sniper rifle and even then you can't zoom in with critical health. Until I picked up the best armor you could get, I had to deal with peaking around the corner and the getting killed from one shot.
And don't get me started on the mako missions. That was a joke.

ME is one of the VERY FEW singleplayer non coop games i have ever played from start to the credit screen(and that means something=) ).
But i sticked to close to the story and finished it after 12/15 hours.
Played it on "Nice", next run will be on "BAD" ^^

Excuse me but you were the one that compared it to the looks of Uncharted 2 and then said not to believe the hype and to remember Too Human, so its a little too late for you to try and back out of those comments now. You cant judge a game based on trailers and gameplay videos alone but if you have grown to expect certain things, it will be delivered
A Sonic title from Bioware, I know wow, but lets not forget it was on a portable. Full-fledged console games have always been great from Bioware.

Bioware is a proven developer that doesn't produce shit. If a game is developed by Bioware , you know it will be something special. Too Human has no baring on Mass Effect whatsoever.

@Gameplay999 yea thats a ridiculous comparison to make. All I'm gonna say is ME2 is going to be epic, like one of the greatest games ever conceived epic. Bioware is an amazing company and they do soo much more for their customers in terms of product quality and depth than any other game company period. Mmo's not withstanding.

ok man is just my opinion. i have looked at some of the gameplay for mass effect2 and looks great and one of the reason i say me2 will be better than uc2 is because in me2 you can basically do whatever you want in uc2 you cant do what you want you just stick to the missions which are cool but only for one playthu .

I'm not trying to bash Mass Effect, but I kinda felt that the artistic design was somewhat bland and uninspired. (Same problem I have with Halo) The armor design, aliens, weapons and architecture don't really seem very interesting to me. Don't get me wrong, It's probably a good game, but not really my thing in terms of design.

Look ME is a desent game. I have spent nearly 120 hours playing it when I got bored. But the story is always the same and you dont have that much say in the story.
I prefer Fallout 3 becuse the game gives a lot more freedom.

Have to say, I am playing this game right now, and I only payed $10 and I am ticked I wasted that 10 bucks. The story seems nice, but I can't get past the crappy and I do mean terrible game play. I love RPGs and Fallout and Oblivion are some of my favorite games. I also like some of BioWares games, but this games sucks overall.

You are a fool.....this is one of the best games i've ever played, i too love TES Oblivion, and Fallout but if you really give Mass Effect a try...i mean a REAL try you will find that the story captivates you and the gameplay, albeit annoying early, grows on you, much like how the new fighting system did in FFXII....give it a shot mang

when I posted that I had almost finished the game, and after finishing the game, I have to say that the story was pretty good, but the only weapon worth using is the sniper rifle and even then you can't zoom in with critical health. Until I picked up the best armor you could get, I had to deal with peaking around the corner and the getting killed from one shot.
And don't get me started on the mako missions. That was a joke.

I got this game when it first came out, completing the main story in about 3 days without doing the side quests, and then selling it off to my mate.
I regret that, i missed so much cool features!
In fact, I'm off to Tesco's to buy it again!
