He never claimed to re-invent the wheel and always gives Yngwie, Blackmore, etc. kudos. Rather than copying and pasting licks/riffs like Yngwie does, Joe makes sure that each album of his is unique. They are both monster players regardless.

Some classical music uses 9th and 13th chords and atonal styles. Most of it is not wall to wall shredding.
Interesting how they never are influenced by these aspects, only the parts that you play fast and sound cool with.

An hour with the man would be amazing, plus this year Berklee had a priority listing for new applicats because a lot of students continued instead of dropping out. 1. International Students, 2. USA Students who don't need financial aid (they reached their limit not even halfway through these students) 3. USA Students who need financial aid. Oh well. Lol.
I'm gonna guess as they were going through the applications of students who didn't require financial aid, filled the seats for the freshman class, so I guessing they never considered any students who required financial aid.. I was told by my friend's dad, so i'm guessing it's a long those lines.

Thats totally wrong, they dont except you based on financial aid needs or the amount of money you need. They dont even know what your gonna need until after your excepted. I got accepted this year and I need as much financial aid as possible. They accept or deny you based on your audition and how well they think you can succeed there.

this is a clear example of the Dark Side of the Shred, great technique, but too fast and too dirty to appreciate, plus the same chord progrettions, arpeggios, licks and "pretty much anything that sounds fast, loud and cool" from malmsteen. like butnutz said (btw, Ur nick is kinda gay, no offense) there's so much more influense in classical music than 1000 notes per minute. (to all the spelling natzis, I know I write like shit, no need to remind me XD)

Isn't it interesting how these neoclassical guys only copy Yngwie's version of the baroque period and only play fast harmonic and melodic minor scales. Why?
Some classical music uses 9th and 13th chords and atonal styles. Most of it is not wall to wall shredding.
Interesting how they never are influenced by these aspects, only the parts that you play fast and sound cool with.
I love Yngwie but these guys are pretty embarrassing

Well, as I said, neoclassical as Yngwie plays it, is boring as hell. Every tune sound alike, the same boring licks over and over again, drowned in delay and reverb. This guy just sound alot fresher.
You cant say that Jimmy Page's tunage is a cliche though. I mean, he and LZ created what today are some of metal music cliche's. And no, I'm not particualarly fond of Led Zeppelin, but credit due where credit deserved.

actually many of the Zep song's riffs are virtual copies of pages heros liek the riff for dazed and confused and whole lotta love has stolen lyrics. im sure that youll find that very few musicians in rock and metal are what we would call truly original.

yeah, i agree to some extent to that, but during the 70s, pagey's influences were not that blatant compared to malmsteen who is really groundbreaking and really has a signature style that when you get influenced by him it will be very obvious.. well thats just my personal view, there are shredders who have individual voices and kinda hard to trace who their influences are.. eric johnson is one good example

shawn lane is awesome guitarist. That being said, joe stump is very good at what he does too. Why put him down if you don't like it? The only people that think hes a copy are haters and don't listen to his music. Don't tell people what to listen too. I and many others, never get tired of the cool sounding licks and scales of this style, and its refreshing to see others takes on it, even if it is very obviously influenced by malmsteen.

I already know he teaches up at Berklee, but I'd rather take private lessons with him, it's cheaper.
An hour with the man would be amazing, plus this year Berklee had a priority listing for new applicats because a lot of students continued instead of dropping out. 1. International Students, 2. USA Students who don't need financial aid (they reached their limit not even halfway through these students) 3. USA Students who need financial aid. Oh well. Lol.

I'm gonna guess as they were going through the applications of students who didn't require financial aid, filled the seats for the freshman class, so I guessing they never considered any students who required financial aid.. I was told by my friend's dad, so i'm guessing it's a long those lines.

Thats totally wrong, they dont except you based on financial aid needs or the amount of money you need. They dont even know what your gonna need until after your excepted. I got accepted this year and I need as much financial aid as possible. They accept or deny you based on your audition and how well they think you can succeed there.
