a rs 125 is a bike that has to be treated well, use shit oil or not warm it up before riding and yes u will end up with alot of problems.....friend of mine has a 2004 with 22k miles on the clock hes never had a problem either apart from the obvious replacement of pistons every 8-10k miles ......im keeping mine but want to upgrade to a 600 or a ducati 848 in march

Yamaha yzf r125 is such a better bike than these 2, not only in reliability and build quality but looks too! Much better first bike......

@XShamuelX im guessing you have never owned a 2 stroke......i have a alitalia version of the rs 125 and the reliability isnt a problem i havent had one single problem with mine and it has 4000 miles on it , people who say it needs a engine rebuild etc every few months dont know what there talking about.

@johnnyforman I've had an aprilia rs 125cc 2009 from new (in and out garage all the time - under waranty but still, almost put me off bikes forever) and now own a yamaha yzf r125 full power 2010 and never needed anything done. It's a much kinder bike in my opinion for young/inexperienced bikers and looks and sounds much better too. Didn't mean to offend just my experience of 125's. Will be selling my yzf soon anyway for a bigger bike!

i had a derbi 2010 gpr 50 and it was beast, but my mate had basically the same but an aprilia and it was just as good, theres not much difference
