man only sony would be insightful enough to put schematics in, being that their products tend to be reliable and worth fixing, you wouldnt see that on a shitty apple product
This reminds me of some General Electric TVs made in the late 70s-early 80s, they one-upped the Sony cassette deck here by having a plastic enclosure in the back of the set which contained service information & schematics all folded-up in the enclosure much like a roadmap. The enclosure could only be opened from the inside of the set (obviously, when the service tech has the set chassis open for repair).
Fixing up an old cassette deck in a cool old car is way way way way cooler than surfing around all day glued to a screen making lame comments about people's hair. Now THAT is gay.
i learned nothing. he said. okay this is my car i like it. the tape player is broken. lets open it up. it pops open. they marked the insides. it has a schematic.
My older brothers used to be able to open up and fix and repair stuff like this, but nowadays you can't. These are my favorite segments on the show because they're not a so much a how-to do, they're a how-to THINK about the stuff around us. Super cool.
Hey great; I agree and encourage manufacture after service aides whole heartedly. But what do I say to the old-cogger who designed some interface, and purposely hid its key components as a matter of job security.
It's a cassette deck, not an 8 track, and there was no schematic, just a pinout of the external connectors. Did this guy even pay attention to what he was saying? What was the point of this video?
1: a diagrammatic presentation; broadly : a structured framework or plan : outline (Merriam-Webster)
"A schematic is a diagram that represents the elements of a system using abstract, graphic symbols rather than realistic pictures. A schematic usually omits all details that are not relevant to the information the schematic is intended to convey..." (Wikipedia)
The point? It's clearly stated in the synopsis provided by Make.
i think most people forgot... for me, being as they were before my time- i had to be introduced to them in all their random glory/insane tangling of death.
An 8-track would have been better...what's with the discrepancy between the title and video. It's a cassette player, isn't it? Why do you tease me so...
Even if they are passionate about their work if the boss says no printout or no helpful labeling of internal parts, then there isn't going to be any of those.
