at the kickoff of the new shannon cup hockey tournament, me and all her other teammates raised thousands of dollars to go to the scholarship her family made. everyone at the rink that day wore a lime green shannon sticker. it was great. i really wish shannon could see how many people showed up there and her funeral. she wouldve loved it
Shannon has been such an inspiration to me. She played hockey and got to wear my jersey in a hockey game. I know Shannon is playing up there in heaven though. Which is much better then being down here in agony and sadness. I have loved you so much Shannon. Rest in Peace.
Wow, what a beautiful, inspiring, and mature young girl! I'm sure she is perfectly healthy and happy now, in heaven. May God bless her family, and give them the strength to live happy lives in her memory...until they meet again. I've been there, and it is not easy, but it is what she would want. R.I.P. Shannon - precious angel.
Very sorry for your loss- Thoughts and Prayers to your family and to your beautiful daughter Shannon in Heaven.... The way she had such an energetic and positive outlook towards her diagnosis and looked towards helping others despite her potential coming death brought tears to my eyes. May the Angels Lead you In Shannon
Beautiful job! As a mother who lost her 7yr old son unexpectedly on 10/28/09 I'm sending you my love. My boy was amazing as well, very kind, very loving, very thoughtful. I'm in tears writing this to you as I miss him tremendously. Be strong, let Shannon live through you even though it's soooo incredibly hard, we owe it to them. I'm sending hugs to you and know our children are rejoicing together. May God bless you always!
Our hearts go out to Shannon's family. The mom of a schoolmate of hers posted this on her FB page so we could all rejoice in a beautiful soul who will be missed so very much. Know that her feisty smile & twinkle could be seen & felt even here in North Dakota. Peace be with you.
i became friends with shannon at hockey camp. after a week, i overheard someone admiring that she showed up under the "circumstances." that was when i found out about her tumor. it killed me to know that this friend that i had just met could die soon. before she left for tennessee, i went to her hockey game. the other team gave her a poster: "shannon the cannon, fight like a girl" i love you shannon, i'll miss you forever. <3
Although i didn't know you, I felt like I did from all these wonderful things people said about you. May you rest in peace. I wish nothing but the best for your family.
It shouldn't hurt so much to say goodbye to a child you've never met, but here I sit in tears of heartbreak for Shannon's family. All of Rochester followed Dan and Jen's blog and, even up until the last moment, we were hoping and praying that God would change his mind and allow her to stay on this earth with those who loved her best.
To Shannon's family: You're in our constant thoughts and prayers. Know that your angel is now a guardian angel, watching over you for the rest of your days...
As a parent I look at my kids w/a belief that I need to teach them so much. After reading the O'Hara family blog I realized there's a lot my kids can teach me. Shannon taught many kids & adults how to fight the real fight, how to stay positive, how to enjoy each and every day. I never met Shannon but she taught me so much about life, love, happiness, & strength. Today Shannon entertains Jesus with her spunky sense of humor. Dan, Jen, & Erin forever have a fantastic angel watching over them.
This is why I am going to school to become a Pediatric Oncologist. To help win this fight. Nobody deserves to go through what she went through at such a young age, and I'm going to do whatever it takes to help more kids win this fight. God bless the O'Haras in their time of pain and need, and God bless Shannon, rest in peace.
Shannon....you are in Heaven right now, but please know that you have positively touched me and so many other people. Please know that you will nevet be forgotten!
