This game had a message, (Love and Peace) but it had a conflict which right now we seem to be facing in the real world, the battle between Nature and Machine.at the begining we see the small town of Tazmily, a little village full of friendly people. but when porky comes in, the people become more bitter and stop caring about others feelings, which really showed how the modern world has changed us and not all of it for the better...but this game has really showed me how harsh the world can be...

@science9001 The thing is, even if someone did make a story for a possible 4th installment, there is no chance that it could even be half as amazing as what Mother 3 gave us. It's best just to leave it alone and not end up insulting this series by over-blowing it with possible plots for a new game.
Pikmin is a completely different scenario since the plot would just have to explain why Olimar goes back to the planet. That and the fact that Pikmin doesn't have that feeling of "The End."

This isn't my favorite video game, but it definitely has the best message of any game I've ever played: love and peace, which is very lacking in the world right now. The lesson this game teaches is so imperative to humanity. We're caught up in a downwards spiral, and someday maybe the whole world will be like Porky's empire if we don't learn to love. If this game was a book, I guarantee it would be read in language arts classes around the world (instead of crappy Romeo and Juliet).

People need to stop overstating there opinions I mean I play left 4 dead and Mario, I play God of war and minecraft, I play pokemon and mother. Are each game better than another, no they arent they are just special in a different way. Mother teaches about Love and friendship, Pokemon teaches us Teamwork and Courage, even Portal has a lot of meaning to it. You can Earthbound is best RPG series but you can't say its "The best game series".
Now, i'm as much as a Mother fan as the next guy. And i'm as much as a Call of Duty and Halo fan as the next guy. But what i don't get is why there are so much hate on those games on these videos? Atleast show a LITTLE kindness to 'em!
The same way a FPS fan would complain about this game, we do the same with their games. While a FPS can teach you a little about team work and never lose hope, games like GTA are a huge social critic.
However something I don't like in games are the cliché Zombie Apocalypse and WWII thematics. But someone in the world can like these and deserves to be respected.
I know that I heard somewhere that Itoi was not planning on making a Mother 4, but did he say anything about possible remakes? Maybe a translated 3d version for the 3DS or Wii/Wii U? I wouldn't blame him for not making a Mother 4, but this game in particular is just too powerful to just leave in the dust. If everyone in the world played this to the end, then they'd realize how precious loved ones are. CoD + Mother = Metal Gear, in my opinion. THAT is the best type of shooter for me.

I started sniffling there, but I started bawling at "I was going to say... to be kind, just like YOU". I cried from there to the ending. And I didn't stop for a long, long time. All the way through the credits too.
I still cry like that too. I'm nearing the end of my 4th playthrough. It's inevitable now. :'(

Too many Mother 1 references and Ninten isnt even in the game, Almost none Mother 2 references even though Ness has been in the beginning in SSB, And too many Mother 3 Spoilers and they portrayed Lucas TERRIBLY.

This isn't my favorite video game, but it definitely has the best message of any game I've ever played: love and peace, which is very lacking in the world right now. The lesson this game teaches is so imperative to humanity. We're caught up in a downwards spiral, and someday maybe the whole world will be like Porky's empire if we don't learn to love. If this game was a book, I guarantee it would be read in language arts classes around the world (instead of crappy Romeo and Juliet).

People need to stop overstating there opinions I mean I play left 4 dead and Mario, I play God of war and minecraft, I play pokemon and mother. Are each game better than another, no they arent they are just special in a different way. Mother teaches about Love and friendship, Pokemon teaches us Teamwork and Courage, even Portal has a lot of meaning to it. You can Earthbound is best RPG series but you can't say its "The best game series".

We're all full of prejudgements.
The same way a FPS fan would complain about this game, we do the same with their games. While a FPS can teach you a little about team work and never lose hope, games like GTA are a huge social critic.
However something I don't like in games are the cliché Zombie Apocalypse and WWII thematics. But someone in the world can like these and deserves to be respected.

I know that I heard somewhere that Itoi was not planning on making a Mother 4, but did he say anything about possible remakes? Maybe a translated 3d version for the 3DS or Wii/Wii U? I wouldn't blame him for not making a Mother 4, but this game in particular is just too powerful to just leave in the dust. If everyone in the world played this to the end, then they'd realize how precious loved ones are. CoD + Mother = Metal Gear, in my opinion. THAT is the best type of shooter for me.

@Writtenjustice As soon as it hit that first flashback, oh man. "To think we would be blessed with two children at once". I started sniffling there, but I started bawling at "I was going to say... to be kind, just like YOU". I cried from there to the ending. And I didn't stop for a long, long time. All the way through the credits too.
I still cry like that too. I'm nearing the end of my 4th playthrough. It's inevitable now. :'(

@V0ID192 the reason mother fans dont like FPS games like COD is because those games have no personality besides "KILL SHOOT I WANNA SEE BLOOD" while this game has a personality a form of art in music and colorful graphics that appeal to the eye instead of dark depressing graphics which sucks all of the personality out of a game as well as bland characters and music and a story about an alien invasion or assholes attacking or a zombie uprising which has no real compliction to it.

The first part of the song is where they make mother 64 then fail so everyones sad, then theres a ray of hope (earthbound 8 melodys) when mother 1+2 comes out then we find out its japan only, then japan gets mother 3 ( first part of love theme ) then nintendo can make the final part of the song (the happy part) if they give this to us
