a clockwork orange is truly one of the most underrated films of all time. it set the foundation for films about psychologically inept teens and the effect society has on them. in my opinion one of the greatest films of all time and truly a classic. great song too, it goes perfectly with the movie.

The point was that true goodness of heart cannot be manufactured, nor taught. Alex can be trained to become ill when his destructive urges kick in, but he cannot be trained to feel sympathy or emotion, which is why in the end he is not cured, merely restrained. It's a shame the movie didn't follow the book. In all honesty the book was way better than the movie. Why the American Publisher told Anthony Burgess to leave out the last chapter is beyond me. No, it hasn't got comunistic ideas. He used many words in a slang argot, mix of modified Slavic words, Polari, Cockney rhyming slang, deived Russian an words invented by Burgess (the writer) himself.

The autor of the book invented that fictitious teen language to make the book atemporal, because in a couple of years the slang they use woulnd't be a "teenage slang".

(I don't know if I have explained it well. Sorry, English is not my first language ;) )

Don't worry what you said made sense. Burgess made up his own slang, because if he used the slang of the 80's by now it would seem out dated. So he made up his own slang so that the slang in his book would be timeless.
