Linux Ubuntu 8.04 + Compiz (demo, no sound)

That was unbelievable how in the world did you get compiz to work. I have done it in the past but for some reason now it wont work. Did you install your video drivers through envyng or something else?

linux, the only operating system where you dont lag like heck when you record your destop, plus u dont need a good comp to do that either... this comp is 600 bucks max, and that's if u buy it, if u make it it's 400 bucks MAX

i have compiz installed but i cant get a cube, also how do u setup the closing animation(ya know the POOF)

1) For get cube you need install: Advanced Desktop Effects Settings (ccsm)

Then open ccsm, and set point in: Desctop Cube and Rotate Cube (+ Cube Reflection)

2) For setup closing animation:

Open ccsm, go to Animations. In Close Animation tab, checked you like effect (I use Burning)

I often read or hear from people who want to use compiz, but don't really get it so fast, so I just ask here: Should somebody or maybe I make some Tutorials to show how easy compiz can be configured with all your stuff you need?
