@Constavlos Yeah we can't go by speaking voice though, singing as hw it's different fomr singing voice. I believe she still sings like that:) But I have learned a lot in 7 months(vocal pedogogy wise) and to be honest, I'm thinkin she's a light lyric soprano with a a AMAZING lower register. But like I said, I don't care for voice type and if somebody were to ask me I'd say Alto, even though there is overwhelming evidencve suggesting otherwise:)

@AlexandrovichHans yes mariah is actually a mezzo like her mother yet I think its those nodules she's had since a little girl that allowed her to reach those extremely high notes...Mariah once in an interview early in her career said she smoked and shaped her lower range. she said she stopped because one day she lost her voice and prayed it would come back.

Not until seeing Mariah Carey week on Idol last year did it even occur to me: Mariah has been her own song-writer for years. Nearly all of my favorite Mariah hits were written by her as well!

please. tommy is an older italian man. powerful and aggressive. mariah was a fool not to know how they are. especially being from new york. she knew what she was doing. she wanted to maintain that success. luckily for her, her voice was incredible. she didnt love tommy. whenever she does an interview she dances around the question. even in 1993 she was dancing around the question. something happened a little more serious than whats noted in these interviews and her on screen reasoning.

Um, a few reasons:

Generally speaking, a guy who is insecure enough that he must resort to possessive and controlling behavior does not think of the people he uses or victimizes in the process. If you haven't read about some of the strings he pulled both during their marriage and shortly thereafter, while they still maintained a business relationship through the record company, then I would just assume allow you to keep your innocence.
