  • how do u make fire?

  • cmon dude at least make the torch a flamethrower

  • god this gave me chills...=_=" yea this is good bro i give 100/10 :)

  • NIce! :D, but it need some Specular mappings

  • you are awesome! :O i hope i will be very good like you . . .

  • you should apply footsteps it wil add to the effect

  • I wanna know how to make cool games like you do, I'm COMPLETELY new to blender and don't know how to do anything!

  • Hey cool man! I'm currently trying to start making a First-Person game, but I'm using the new Blender, and so, I can't find the MouseLook script anywhere. Can you help me?

    GREAT JOB!!

  • can i have the fire images ? xD

  • Wow Thats Pretty Cool, Ive Be Off And On With Blender But Now Ive Promised MySelf To Stick To It Because i See All These People With Some Cool Models And Design So yah:)

  • Was this made in blender?

  • @AlienSheepGaming

Lol yes, it was 100% made in blender, aside from some 2D texturework. And as mentioned in other comments its being run in realtime IN blender, using blenders game engine (The BGE) :)

  • @ADEdge Wow then, great graphics!

  • this was done using the blender game engine?

  • @ronspeck

    Sure was :)

  • @ADEdge Wow it looks awesome, how'd you learn to design so well in bge?

  • @ronspeck

    Thanks :)

Just a few years of practice and following tutorials, all self teaching. Ive still got a lot to learn though, lots of other things I want to improve. This was just a little test I whipped together when I was learning the 'new' GLSL stuff with shadows etc. Works pretty well but shadows need optimization, along with the rest of the BGE :p but its getting there.

  • @ADEdge I'm just finally getting into BGE "seriously" so I'm always looking for tutorials and such I've wanted to pursue game dev career for a while now and BGE seemed like a good start.

  • This looks really good, though the fire could use some work. Maybe instead of an animated texture you should use particles or something. Funny thing that that rezaka116 said "penumbra". This is more like Amnesia, a game very similar to Penumbra from the same creators, but unlike Penumbra, it takes place in a castle. I can't wait till it's out, for I loved Penumbra. Good work though

  • @LiquidWang

Yeh I know what you mean, Im about to preorder Amnesia, cant wait either :D

  • I have a question.. Why is it that bathrooms are so freaky when there dark lol. Good job really like it

  • Blood splats all over in the cell you went in would have made it much better.

    Otherwise, very good....and spooky.

Hope you are improving on it.

  • penumbra

  • Haha I wish, one of my favourite games ever :D

  • you should make a dude jump out of one of the cells or some random items laying about ^^ other then that its pretty spooky

  • nice only the fires not that good

  • @yoyoboy305

fire is the always the hardest thing to make lol better than what i can do

  • @yoyoboy305 i think the fires ok

  • Nice, dude! I still can't figure out how to do realtime shadows! lol

  • Did you use seems when you unwrapped the object? Cause thats important, otherwise youll get a very messy unwrap. Perhaps google for UV mapping and texturing tutorials. Also it depends on how youve modeled the object, if youve done it in many individual pieces then your going to have a bit of trouble textuing.

  • OMFG! i never thought that you can make this like on blender: great graphics(for blender), effects and texture! 5/5

  • *gasp* tutorial please!!

  • damn dude, ur good :D

  • Probably wont be doing any tutorials for a little while, Id like to some sometime tho.

And the music was from the Zelda Reorchestrated site, which remakes a lot of zelda music.

  • nice bro im starting to work on blender right now

  • great job.

  • dude thats amazing

    please make a tutorial

    on level makeing thanks :)

  • Very nice physics

  • How the hell do you make maps in blender?!?!!?

  • Normal maps? Im assuming thats what your asking, theres 2 ways, either bake a normal map from a high poly object, or get a texture like I did for this and use GIMP and the nomal map plug in to convert it to a normal map.

  • OMFG, me and a friend but this is so dreakin awesome 5/5

  • this looks awesome so far. and did you make that music yourself?? regardless, keep up the creepiness.

  • Comment removed

  • Thats Very Nice :P

  • i can't figure out who do make something like tihs in bledner

  • Oh jesus christ! That aspect-ratio made me shit bricks!

  • Shit man, thats no good

  • other than npcs, the only thing this is missing is normal mapping. apply that and this is flying.

  • how did you get fire in the GE?

  • SHIT

  • if u finnished this in like 2000 or somthing it would be a HITTTTTTTT!

  • wow!

  • this is absolutely amazin! i never knew that blender was capable of sumthin this cool........

  • I felt the same way i even seen better games then this made from blender! keep looking you will find amazing games made in blender

  • I can't find many though.

    Can you help me look?

  • yes, i just looked around youtube, and i didnt mean that yours was bad im just saying i seen amazing ones

  • found this after watching your water vs fire vid - very very nicely done.

  • haha shit looks nice

  • very good

  • wow great dungion level maybe make a tutorial

  • Wow you can make alot of money doing this

  • You never cease to amaze me. :D

  • Aww thanks Natasha :)

  • The graphics may scream "PlayStation", but that music is the icing on the cake to this game!

  • Please, tell me how you've made the fire.

    Please!

    Please!

    Please!

    Please!

  • Very nice. I especially likes the flames and the way they animate.

  • did you build a game engine?

  • Nope, I use Blender and its inbuilt game engine (The BGE)

  • hey i wanna ask you something but I can''t send pm.

  • I think u need to add me as a friend to send a pm, I'll send a request!

  • holy mother of god

  • r there really zombies... i didnt spot any!!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG OMFG OMFG put that into a comp man

!!! OMFG best seriously i have seen them all...!!!! OMG PRO MUCH!!!!

  • das is kras gut da bekomm ich echt ne gänsehaut applaus 5/5

  • WOW in bender?! how many triangles you need to get that type of lighting?

  • Not that many at all, you can use a completely unsubdivided plane if you want.

Its possible now using the new GLSL settings.

  • really? im gonna have to look in on that

  • wow... nice work man! you just keep getting better and better! XD

  • Pretty cool dude, I would love to know how you do that kinda stuff lol. Did you use siftware like MAYA or something?

    Great work.

  • Thanks, and na I didn't use Maya! I use Blender3D which is opensource and free to download. :) Check out all my other videos, there all done using Blender

  • wow it looks so good that I'd like to play it. Good job. Keep it up

  • "slow parenting"? how does that work? does the torch parent itself to the camera, then remove the parent, then re-parent, then de-parent over and over again? i'd like to use this technique in my fps.

  • You can see the effect of slow parenting when the player movies, it makes the torch (which is parented all the time to the camera) delay its movement. So when the camera moves, the parented torch takes a few seconds to catch up. It makes it look much much smoother and more natural.

You can find the setting in the object panel under Anim Settings. Enable slow parenting and then change the value down the bottom called time offset to change the length of the slow parent.

  • Also if you want to be able to parent and unparent objects on the fly in the game like you explained then you should check out the new parent actuator in the latest version of blender (2.48)

  • thanks for explaining, but i found out everything like two seconds after posting my comment.

  • boahr da kanns einem schon der schauer über dem rücken laufen

  • amazing stuff.

  • I wanna see mummies xD...the lightening reminds me of that inside of a pyramid. Everything looks sandy. If you are going to make it look medieval use slighty blue ligt instead...

  • i have some questions: do you make the uv an add or alpha? and do you have to modify each frame so that they all have a black background(transparent for alpha)?

  • Yeh at first i tryed it with black backgrounds (which was easy as the fire footage was taken at night) But then found that using an alpha background worked much better. It takes a lot of work, but its worth it.

  • can you give me the link to the video?

  • Na i dont have it up for download, u should be able to find videos of fire on the net though, or just record some yourself.

  • visuals are excellent, but the music really puts it over the top, great work

  • how do you make the fire?

  • I took the texture from video of a real fire, then used the frames as a animated texture in the BGE

  • This is awesome man !!

  • good but.... WHERE ARE THE ZOMBIES!!!

  • Hiding in the shadows, didnt you see them all staring at the player as he walked around?

  • This is awesome! The music creates a very eerie atmosphere. The fire looks fantastic. Great job!

  • Very cool, did you make this using the Blender game engine?

  • Sure did!

  • Brilliantly done, again, you amaze me at what you can do in Blender!

My best in Blender is a cube O.o

  • impressive :) how much fps do you get? and as always... how did you do that? :o

  • Im not exactly sure on the Fps, but it runs at over 60 consistently. Theres not much in the scene really, no characters or logic etc, and I've optimized it all a lot.

  • Dude hell yea

  • what program did you use?

  • ADedge, this is so real! I love it... Wish i could use GLSL shaders =(

  • Would you please tell me how to make and use an animated texture for the game engine, i've been trying for quite a while and it never works.

  • Someone is using East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra. (Yes, I can recognize the samples).

I wonder if you made the music.

  • Lol good pick up on that one, I didnt make the music unfortunately, a team called Zreomusic did, on their site - Zelda Reorchestrated. They remake all the Zelda songs, damn awesome.

  • ooh! i love the use of GLSL materials.. only thing is.. i do not - for the life of me, know how to get good textures, and make sure that they fit perfectly for my model.. and then convert them into Normal maps for GLSL.. a simple know how would be cool. :D

  • oh yeah, also; how does slow parenting work and how is it done?

    P.S: wicked fire texture.

  • wow thats awesome! I take it you put a spotlight by the torch to give the realtime shadows? nice stuff dude.

  • awesome!

  • Nice work!

4 Stars, probably you can work on the

shadows.. they are very edged in my opinion.

The lightning with the Hand Held Torch looks

much better because the "day mode" is too

    bright.

But keep the good work, wanna play this some

    day ;)

  • Yeh thats right about the shadows, however they can easily be made sharper, which i should have done for this video, ill correct them for any future videos!
