@jeandinizp Its not hard to understand. After japan attacked de dutch colonies the rubber supply for the US was cut in 90% now in the hands of the axis. They saw the oportunity to boost the production of rubber in brazil again (raising 16% a year. Considering the need of rubber for the effort of war the germans saw the oportunity to hamper US by attacking rubber shipment. Thats the reason. You only show ignorance, the main export product of Brasil was coffee, sugar, not by far bananas.

I am not sure what happened to German prisoners of war born in Brazi, captured in Russia l and sent back by Russia to Brazil. But it's worth investigating.

I have neaver heard that any immigrants to Brazil were sent back by Brazilian government to Germany upon Brazil's war entry. Do you have any sources ?

@Beijing292 No, any German immigrant were sent back to Germany. Moreover, the most these immigrants came to Brazil before the WWII, unrelated with war prisioners.

I believe that prisioners remained in Europe.

There were even Germans born and raised in Brazil who returned to Germany and fought at the Eastern front in Russia. I have heard they were repatriated to Brazil upon capture by the Russians.

@HeiligesReich2 with your "lesser contribuition" the Brazil captured all 148th German Infantry Division (Brazil was the only ally force that captured a fully division in Italy), remainder of the 90th german panzer division and the italian division Bersaglieri. Captured 14779 mens and 2500 vehicles, also conquested more than 15 cities.

But at least their participation is leseer than Slovakia,Croatia, New Zealand.

All of they participated more than 2 front. Slovakia is Poland and Eastern front, Croatia is Yugoslav partisan and Eastern front ( they even bombered Leningrad) New Zealand is Norh Africa, Italy, Greece and more. And Ethiopia fought their native land.

Ah, só tenho uma correção que não sei se realmente precisa: onde vc escreve Axle(eixo), em referencia aos paises do eixo, o mais comum é escrever Axis quando se trata desse grupo de paises da 2 guerra, embora não esteja errada a tradução, só é mais comum, vide wikipedia.

O símbolo da cobra fumando não é do Exército, e sim da Força Expedicionária Brasileira. Dizem que Hitler, em um de seus discursos, teria dito que seria mais fácil uma cobra fumar do que o Brasil entrar efetivamente na guerra, ou seja, o símbolo foi uma resposta a esse discurso.

na verdade, este foi um termo utilizado pela imprensa brasileira na época, que descria de que o governo realmente efetivaria seus planos de ir pra guerra em meio à contradição em que vargas se colocava, sendo um regime totálitário de direita lutando à favor da democracia.

Sinceramente não sei qual é o problema do "snake smoked", pois tem o mesmo sentido que "a cobra fumou", que é uma expressão, uma gíria.

Gíria não precisa ter sentido pra ser inventada ou traduzida para outro idioma, tanto é que várias gírias em inglês foram traduzidas para o português e o pessoal usa normalmente por aí.

Plus the forced numbered over thirty thousand men, they rarely engaged in co-operation at the tactical level (as would a smaller, less multi layered forced when undergoing the offensive)

Mexico sent at least one fighter squadron to fight in the Phillipines in 1944. Mexico fought too, just on the Pacific side, while Brazil fought in the European theatre.

Los pilotos Mexicanos volaron muy pocas misiones, de manera que su participación fue mas simbólica para complacer a los EEUU. La participación de Brasil si fue masiva y se dejo sentir en Europa, no fue un aliado meramente simbólico.
