Anyone complaining about "mainstream artists" "abusing" chipmusic obviously has no idea who Hally is. Hally's been a cornerstone of the chipmusic community for years. Like or dislike the song as you choose, but any claims of this being a case of chipmusic being hijacked by the mainstream are nonsense.

Well, this is what you would normally call 'true' chiptune music. Something that uses it to full effect and not as a gimmick on top of pop, like what mainstream pop music is trying to do nowadays.

This is coming straight out of the chiptune movement. I mean the ENTIRE background track is chiptune. While in most pop music, it's still the usual suspects of composed synths and instruments.
