getting this done on both feet in two weeks time and can not wait. I'm 30 and have had noticeable bunions since I was a kid.
It's an amazing procedure if you think about how intricate the mechanics of the foot are!
I'll be making a video diary from the day before my surgery all the way through to (a hopefully speedy) recovery.
I'm in the UK and will be getting this done on the NHS, so I don't pay anything. I believe the cost per foot if you were to go private spans between £3000 and £4000.
for anyone with bunions, i had this surgery June 2011. It went great! Had the screw inserted as shown. My incision is more on top of the foot, rather than side. At same time I had hammertoes in 2 adjacent toes corrected and temporary pins inserted in ends of the toes (pins removed about 6 wks post-op in dr offc) and my third toe (next to pinkie) had tendon cut in it to correct moderate hammer movement. Should of done yrs ago. Goodbye to pain & only wearing some shoes. Ins covered most costs.
This is one of the most professional bunionectomy videos on YouTube. I'm a registered nurse and nurse supervisor and I couldn't believe some of the other videos! This is one of the few that used true aseptic technique, which should always be done to prevent infection and promote healing without complications. Very nicely done!
I have an question I'm in NYC I very interested into having surgery for my bunions but is there anyway I can do two feet at the same time. I went to other foot doctors and they recommend that I should do one at a time. The reason why I would like to do two at an time is because I read this is an very painful surgery. But my the pain I'm getting now is unbearable and plus I'm flat footed to make things worse any opinions are more then welcome
I'm in that awesome part of youtube again.

do all bunions require sugery??
calverton19 3 months ago
@calverton19 you really only need to have the surgery done is when the pain is to much. If you dont have any pain , then no need to get cut open.
