The polyrhythms are difficult and his independence is unmatched. Just because he makes it look so easy that you think it is doesn't make it simple. In fact, his genius is in making the difficult seem easy. That is an indicator of true mastery. His technique is so evolved its transparent and leaves only the music of his solo - which is great.

You might not like it, but that doesn't mean it isn't there. It just means you can't hear it or don't like it. Remember, the same was said of Bach, Beethoven, and Mozart back in their day. Mangini's musicality is matched only by his technique. He's comparable to Malmsteen on the guitar - so good that it intimidates many into dismissing it as BS.

Isnt envy a wonderful thing...First off, there's no such thing as 'THE

best drummer in the world',it's a very subjective issue and each to

their own.Secondly, he was my drum teacher whilst I lived in Boston a

few years back-apart from being a really cool, down to earth guy (no

really!)he is an amazing drummer (kind of obvious I guess-they dont call

him the poly-rhythm king for nothing!) All those kick notes are SINGLE

strikes-not doubled at all
