Awesome video. I originally thought the theme they used during heatwave 98 was his normal theme and the poor sound system made it sound different. Guess I was wrong. I wish I'd have known more about wrestling at the time and been able to watch his career as it happened instead of in retrospect as I do now. It will be one hell of an accomplishment when he starts walking again.

I think fmw would still have folded, just not as quickly. Apparently the owner of fmw at the time was deeply in debt, well over a million dollars in debt; that can become a big factor.

The main problem of the fmw was the shitty booking. They had plenty of really good wrestlers, but turning the FMW from a garbage promotion to a more sports Entertainment-like promotion was bullshit. The attendances decreased constantly over the years, but Hiromichi Fuyuki never changed his shitty booking. It's a pity.

Hayabusa was probably one of the most well-rounded wrestlers ever. He could do it all. And every one loved him. I remember how the crowd would rush the barrier and surround the ring after every match he had. I hope his wrestling promotion is as successful as he was.
