Awesome video. I originally thought the theme they used during heatwave 98 was his normal theme and the poor sound system made it sound different. Guess I was wrong. I wish I'd have known more about wrestling at the time and been able to watch his career as it happened instead of in retrospect as I do now. It will be one hell of an accomplishment when he starts walking again.
I think fmw would still have folded, just not as quickly. Apparently the owner of fmw at the time was deeply in debt, well over a million dollars in debt; that can become a big factor.
The main problem of the fmw was the shitty booking. They had plenty of really good wrestlers, but turning the FMW from a garbage promotion to a more sports Entertainment-like promotion was bullshit. The attendances decreased constantly over the years, but Hiromichi Fuyuki never changed his shitty booking. It's a pity.
@2DRulz PROBABLY WOULD BE TEARING THROUGH THE INDY SCENES ALL OVER THE WORLD OR IN NEW JAPAN. HE IS RESPECTED BY ALL IN THE BUSINESS SO WHO KNOWS. EVEN VINCE MCMAHON LIKES HAYABUSA LOL!
@masterbubu69 waaaaay better. yes, Sabu was cool to look at in his prime, but Hayabusa was more like a high flying version of Mutoh; all of his moves were absolutely flawless. he performed each of them with surgical precision; Sabu is just simply reckless.
I agree. We can only wonder what he could have done if his career wasnt ended so early. Hes right at the top of the list with The Great Muta and Liger as the best to ever come over and compete in the U.S.
Hayabusa was probably one of the most well-rounded wrestlers ever. He could do it all. And every one loved him. I remember how the crowd would rush the barrier and surround the ring after every match he had. I hope his wrestling promotion is as successful as he was.

more than half of his arsenal of moves are no where to be seen on tv except by rare occasion from ray mysterio or a 450 splash.

a great version of the great music of the greatest wrestler

Another great legend fallen before his time. He and Shinzaki would have abssolutely dominated the ranks of the WWE. The Phoenix will never die.

wasn't this the theme he used when he challenged RVD and Sabu for the ECW tag titles?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
IMO the closest representation(s) of Hayabusa is/are:
1. Evan Bourne (ECW)
2. TNA X division 03/04/05.

Don't forget about his good friend, Jinzei Shinzaki
DarkRonin21 3 years ago 3
agree with u. if only the WWF would have used Jinzei Shinzaki(Hakushi) correctly while he was there he could have been a household name in the states

it really is a horrible shame for pro wrestling that someone THAT good would end up having his carreer end so abruptly.

I prefer the original "Fight with Dream" theme. Although, this theme still beats just about every american wrestler's current theme.
