  • Semper Fi. Thank you gentlemen.

  • Seriously, the Marines should recruit more DI so that each DI doesn't have to work so hard. They're humans and they have families too...just my personal thought.

  • My cover is off to you and your husband, ma'am. Semper fidelis and ductus exemplo.

  • The first time i saw this video was about 2 years ago....having a daughter of my own, this hit home pretty hard....NOW, that i am a Marine Drill Instructor it hits home even more....tell your husband i said Thank you for his devotion and dedication.

  • God bless Mam, I honestly don't know how the hell those men (and women) do what they do. I don't even think any of my DI's slept during my 3 months of bootcamp. They are truly amazing, as well as you and all the other family members that support them.

It's their devotion to duty and training that will get me though my upcoming deployment.

  • Thanks for standing in there. Behind every good marine is a good Drill Instructor, and behind every good Drill Instructor is a Good DI Wife, holding down the camp.

  • Great Video. Might help other people realize that to most Marines, this IS the most important part of thier day/lives. I don't think that normal person gets what we leave behind on any given occasion and just think of us as a fighting force. I don't care how much of a "Greek God" you think you are, the little ones will always make you melt...

  • @MarineDIwife Great video, thank you. Many blessing for you and for your family. Eloy

  • Any advice on convincing my girl that its ok i enlist in the marines?

  • just tell her to stay away from that jody boy. i personally wouldn't go to boot with a girlfriend back home, too much to think about, for some it might motivate them to "do it for her", and for others, it'll just screw them over and drive them insane when they call home to find jody on the phone with his girl, just my opinion.

  • just go for it, I am not letting any one hold me back from my dream of becoming a US Marine, neither should you.

  • dont let it get away from you, i didnt. it sucks sometimes but overall its a good decision

  • If you're going to join any branch of the military, it's best to dump your girlfriend before you head off. If you don't, she will cheat on you.

  • Forget your girl, Let jodie have her. Enlist and become one of the few!

  • Beautiful.... thank you....

  • Dear MarineDIwife,

God Bless you--what a wonderful video--and what a beautiful child. I too am fortunate enough to be married to a Marine (84-91)(Gulf War vet). We are still involved with the Corps today. My husband is currently the Commandant of a MCL detachment.

From one Marine Wife to another--Semper Fi and God Bless your family.

  • What a Beautiful child...God's most precious

  • May I ask that you add in the "About This Video" your husband's name and what battalion he is in? You never know, a young marine may have had your husband as a DI...

  • Does ure husband still teach as a DI? I want to go into the marines but parents not cool with that!

  • have you seen a recruiter? I suggest going to a recruiter anyway and let him come talk to your parents WITH you, they are good with stuff like that! good luck, it would be great to have you

  • oh my goodness, she is absolutely beautiful! I know how much my Marine's life has been changed by his DIs and I am so thankful for the positive impact they had on him, he graduated boot camp in '04 and is such a better man! thank you for all your family's sacrifices!!

  • i'm definitely in tears right now. my dad was a DI in the air force for the first five years of my life...so i KNOW she misses her daddy. and i'm now dating a Marine, so I've been on both sides of your spectrum too. Beautiful video...beautiful little girl. Hang in there! She'll one day really appreciate his absence for what he is doing...i didn't understand get it til i was older, but i've learned to respect the man my dad was then and will always be : )

  • thanks for the comment. it gave me chills!

  • thanks for the comment. it gave me chills!

  • It just goes to show you that even big bad Drill Instructors are human beings with feelings and not the 24/7 ball busters they are portrayed to be. I salute them all and thank them for training our fighting men and women to protect us and our freedom.

  • That might be the cutest thing I've ever seen. Cuter than kittens and puppies.

    Thank you DIwife.

  • Well done!! Thank you!!!

  • I'm not religious, but your husband, and people like you that stand by his side during such hardships is one of the reasons why I love the Corps so much. Semper Fi. 01-05

  • Your Husband probably makes grown men Cry.

It's nice to know that he actually has a home life too.

  • Alabama, 'maker said take her'

  • who sings this song?

  • Great video! I can only imagine what the DI families must go through. They must go through a lot and be very strong to become a DI. It might be a hard 3 years, but with motivation like that, i know itll turn out great. -AIC Guilliams USAF

  • Last I checked my Marine Corps didn't have a medical field. Join the Navy if you're looking to be a Doc.

  • the Marines don't have medics. they use corpsman from the navy.

  • Corpsman you mean

  • no medics in the Marines.

and don't forget to capitalize Marine.

  • Ya man, the Marines dont have medics. Navy Corpsman and Dental Techs provide the Marines with Healthcare...If you have any questions, just shoot me a message!

Hell, it motivates me to get of my butt and do something useful for the world!

  • Tell your husband thank you. No one knows how much these guys sacrifice except for the families. We know, our son is a DI @ MCRD-SD & has had just a one week break between the last two training cycles with no complaints from him.

  • Awesome! Amazing!

  • Nothing less than awesome!! Give your husband a big Semper Fi for me. It takes someone special to be a Marine, and someone even more dedicated and special to be the loving father and husband your's is. This is the true meaning of honor Courage and commitment. God Bless and may your husd=band stay safe wherever he may go.

  • I love this video!! Our youngest son will be heading to Parris Island on the 24th following in my baby brothers footsteps. My brother is a GySgt now stationed at Cherry Point. He said what he went through in boot camp made him a better Marine and was needed for the good of the Corps.

  • Marine Corps Boot Camp was the toughest thing I have ever done in my almost 50 years. I wouldn't want to do it again, but I wouldn't trade the experience for ANYTHING. (I was prior Navy and went back to a Private just to be a Marine). Those Drill Instructors will always be three of the most important people in my entire life!

  • Very nice tribute. Platoon 3024, Parris Island 1986! I was a nasty scribe.

  • Wow. Reading the discription,I never knew the Drill Instructers worked that hard. I thought all they did was yell at recruits and get longer then just 1 to 2 weeks off!
