this camera is really rock solid. and image quality is better then even new cameras. peoples tend to compare it with d7000. on papers d7000 sensor is impressive but in practice its sensor have too much softness. chk pixel-peeper dt com to judge by yourself.

Look at the D300 Logo on the mirror reflecting from the view Finder at 6:53 thats why you need something like the D700's Viewfinder to block any light coming from the back they should include that in every DSLR

im neither a Nikon or Canon user, this will be my first DSLR. Im leaning towards the Canon 7D because of the full HD, and the choice of 24, 25, or 30fps. Nikon only has 24fps 720p.

Anyone buying a Nikon D300s is usually already in the Nikon system like myself and owns a couple of lenses for the Nikon system. Now why would anyone buy a Canon if they have Nikon lenses. Lenses matter way more right? Just my thoughts

i have a canon 50d with just the nifty fifty lens but used to have the nikon d90, so i thought i would sell the 50d and get the nikon d90 back for now un til xmas, then get the nikon d300s with the sigma 10-20mm, but i am now happy with the canon, for time being,lol

Oh i did not read your earlier comment, i'm sorry. Well, i really dont know if you will get a big boost in quality from the 50D to the D300s.. its all the same. Invest in a good lens for the same price.

yeah man totally agree, i am currently into landscape photography so i'm gonna keep my 50d and get the sigma 10-20mm or the canon 10-22mm ultra wide angle lens, these will improve pictures all over compared to the kit lens
