This is something like the sixth 'how to setup a time capsule' vid I've watched on YouTube and the first to explain it clearly. Nice job. Thanks for posting.
I particularly liked the bit where you had to pause and think about whether you wanted your TC to replace your existing router or to simply join your existing network. That's the kind of issue that other vids tend to skate over.
LOL @ 'I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it.'
Amazing your video. This is the first time i get to U2 for info about time capsule installation and you, so far, has been the best explanation I found.
So the question, Like you i have At&T Uverse, everything in running with that system. How did you do the wires connection from the AT&T's box with the time capsule, without messing with all AT&T services?

I get to about the 6:35 mark on the video and then it says: Airport utility was unable to find your airport wireless device after restarting. Can't anyone help me out?
My Time Capsule will not show up in the Airport Utility. I have the ethernet cord from the my router to the WAN port on the TC and it still does not show up!!!! Any Ideas??? Is there a way to get the data off of the TC with a USB to USB cord?"
Whats the points of the TC? Does it replace an existing wireless router or is it just a wireless way of using time machine? Also, does it have to be connected to a DSL cable for the internet to work as a standalone device?
@638473jakef does time capsuel have an integrated dsl-modem? if not I think I'll keep my old wi-fi router and use timecapsule only for backup via network.
@erosxp1 yes it does work for shittys PCs stupid thats why he says in the video it works with BOTH Mac and Windows DERRRR listen next time or watch the video before u comment stupid
Hi i would like to know if i can use it without an DSL cable because I want to put in my room and de wrless route is in the living room and I want the time capsule in my room and without cables and only my printer or I have to connect the cables please can you explain to me I will appreciate thanks 5 stars and subscribe to felfosleo15 I allready subscribe to you thanks
I have a problem Time Capsule isn't working and it says that Airport Utility was unable to find a apple wireless device? I was trying so hard to fix this but nothing is working, i tried everything!
Just to say a big thank you to SoldierKnowsBest from female in England, UK who was at her wit's end setting up the Time Capsule. It was not the equipment but me as a non-techie user. I did it straight away after your demo and it works brilliantly. Mega appreciation and huge hug x
I love your Videos. Very Informative. I ordered the Time Capsule. The older Model 500 GB you can get for under $200. I don't intend to use Time Machine with mine. I'm going to put my iTunes folder on the Time Capsule hard drive and stream my iTunes Library (Music & Movies) to my Apple TV. I am going to hard wire (Ethernet) my Time Capsule to my Mac Mini. Do you think I will have problems streaming movies ?
Happy New Year to you and thanks for spreading how to knowledge for us all.
My Time Capsule has all my iTunes library on it (not as a back up). On my MacBook my iTunes preferences are set to go to the TC to find the songs and videos there. Problem: platters on the TC stop spinning after a few minutes of inactivity so when I choose a song to play, I have to wait for the TC to spin the platters which takes 10 to 20 sec- is there a way to have TC platters spin as long as my computer is on? Arigato
I've got to say i've only recently subscribed to you from Adrians channel and your videos are fantastic. Absolutly amazing, they are well structured and put together with excellent transitions and a well thought-out plot with real relevant points which are backed up! Keep up the great videos man!
airport express does not allow you to have external hard drives on the airport express. The hard drive will not be visible. But if you use iTimemachine you can do so but there are many bugs.
i said iTimemachine for a reason. iTimemachine is not made by apple. it allows you to use your external hardrive with an airport express a so you can access your external hard drive over the air. @Chillash007 it can replace the existing router or you can add it on to your current one, but that would be stupid.
It can be as a standalone device, but i think its better to use it as ur primary router.

That is the biggest disadvantage for the Airports, and would be perfect without that flaw. I think it is pretty sensitive to power surges without a very good surge protector or UPS.
