Yeah the 700S looks like a beast & I’m sure does the same as the 800! I think it’s the same exact size as the 800.2 & 801S or whatever it is. Tell the shop you will give em $75 for it, :-)…They probably paid like $20, haha. And still no update on the 55.2, I ordered the wrong size SMD resistors, slightly too small, lol, :( However, I am working on a Memphis 16-PR1KD so when I order parts for it soon, I’ll get the RF SMD resistors at the same time. Get that 700s man!!! lol

Hey I have a Kenwood kac8152D. It has power to it and the remote wire has power. The ground is good and so is the fuse, but the amp does not come on. What internally could be wrong that I could check? The "stand alone mosfets" from the rest of them, are they for the main power circuit???

@adub420247 You must not have much to do. Actually most of the amps I have bought off ebay for cheap (ever heard of ebay?), most were blown & I repaired them (that’s why they were cheap). A few years ago I did a lot of car amplifier repair. Some still need repair, but most work fine. I bought to fix & resell as a side business / hobby, but never got around to selling many of them. You should find a better hobby, rather then leave stupid comments on youtube videos. Anyway, take it easy man.

I don’t have nothing really special, I like the Fosgate 800a2’s, but other then that nothing too great, just stuff I’ve got cheap or broken over the years & fixed or plan on fixing. I have not messed with much in a while, but hopefully sometime this spring / summer I will get some stuff done in the car & get some videos up.

@mazda2284 The only Sony amp I have is the super tiny one in this video, I think its an XM-2020 or something (I could be wrong on the model, its 2020 something), its small enough I can put it in my pocket, I think its 20wrms per channel or like 80 bridged, like I said, its tiny. My audiocontrol line driver is almost the same size, lol Maybe bigger!

@t55sto Thanks man! You talking about the Stereo Limited Power 225? As far as I know there not with Fosgate, but they do look similar as far as some of there font goes. It's been a while since I heard it, but it probably does close to rated power. Last it was used; it was cutting out while driving some components, so I gave my cousin an old MTX equivalent amp & never got around to looking at the Stereo Limited. I’ll have to get a vid of it one of these days. It looks decently built.

@craiggotgame, Yeah, I could never use them all probably, not sure what I am going to do with most of them. Just amps I picked up over the years, most needed repair. There are a lot of amps I would like to get / test yet & would definitely like to play with a soundstream at some point. I do have too many amps though & really should let some go so they can be put to good use again; they have been boxed up since I made this video.

@TehMG, Man, people are so negative these days! Actually when I made this video my only camera was broken! Which is why it looks so bad, it looked better once focused, but with too much light or high brightness the video goes really dark like at 2:30 in the video. If I let it focus like that it would have been hard to see anything at all as it would have been so dark. I have a better camera now, but don’t feel like un-boxing all the amps for another video, good enough for me right now!

@oldschoolhunter, Sure did!!! Three different models! THA-1000, THA-2000 & THA-3000, haha! They actually don’t sound bad; just don’t put out big power. The bigger 3000 has the same board as the 2000, I have not checked the rail voltage, but it appears to be the identical board & both boards are labeled the same. They probably made a killing on those since it had the same board as the smaller one!

@dvsguy2, It is a Lightning Audio model S5.700 amplifier. It is a 5-Channel amplifier, 2-Front channels, 2-Rear channels, & one Subwoofer channel. I have a video of it powering several speakers in one of my other videos. Hope this helps!

Hey i have a question? What is the difference between a Punch 55.2 and a Punch 100z2? they both put out 100 watts each when bridged?? i bough some punch 55's from ebay and a punch 100z2. Now the thing i dont get is a 100z2 has a similar power rating as a RF punch 100a2, punch 120a2, punch 150a2, punch 160, a2 according to the manual it does 160 at 4 ohms bridged at a certain battery boltage. I've read some good and bad reveiws mostly good and a couple bad ones.

kskate91, the dynamic power is rated with the IHF-202 standard, its the maximum rated output with 1% distortion & sometimes a slightly higher battery voltage. The 100z2 for example is rated at 100 watts RMS with 0.10% THD. Then its rated at 160 watts maximum RMS at 1% THD which is significantly higher distortion levels, although 1% is consider just below what the ear can detect. The 55.2 model number is what each channel puts out; the 100z2 model is the bridged power. Actually very similar amps.

Yeah, i just got it today in the mail and went ahead and hooked it up to a single 10 inch sub and wow it sounded amazing just like the 55.2. I actually saw no difference in the two. But im gonna use the 55.2 on highs and and the 100z2 on bass. I have another punch 55 but it needs some repairing to be done.

Sounds like you have a nice amp collection as well! Yeah, 100 watts RMS will get most subs moving, maybe not super hard, but will still bump!

Yeah i just bought a dual 2 ohm VC Kicker 05CVR10 10 inch woofer. Which amp will push it the best? 55 or 100z2? Not looking to break windows but just want some bump and of course to enjoy in the car.

Sweet! That sub should sound good. I would use the 55.2 for the woofer, according to the specs it does do the most power, although not a lot more, it does do more & at a slightly lower battery voltage. Should add some nice bass. I have been thinking on what to put in the car here after I installed the head unit & the highs amp & bostons. Was thinking about running the RF 10 I have free air in the rear deck, but I don't know, there is no bass as of now, don't realy have room for a box right now.

kskate921, The specs on the PUNCH 40.2 show its rated at 20 x 2 watts RMS @ 4-ohms & 80 x 1 watts RMS bridged @ 4-ohms, so it will likely not be quite as powerful when testing as the 55.2, maybe not a huge difference, but may be noticeable, especially on a sub. Will you notice a difference, I dont know, but either way it should do good. Cool little amp!

Kskate91, the new 800a2 I have according to its birth sheet does 1028 watts RMS @ 4 ohm bridged. I love these amps myself; they can put out a lot of clean power, thats for sure. There nice powerful older amps you can get for a decent price these days. Rockford amps will put the hurt on a lot of these amps out there; Ill bet there new amps are sweet too. Okay i now i got a Punch 225.2 and holy cow!!!! this thing is dangerous!!! it jacked up my rockford Punch DVC 12, i mean literaly jacked it all up. ripped the cone away from the rubber srround. I was very disapointed by that but damn this amp owns anything you hook it up to. I got this one from ebay for $35 shipped. Supposebly was not working but worked fine for me.

@kskate91,Dang, sorry to hear about your Punch DVC!lol! Maybe it can be repaired yet. Yeah the bigger RF amps do put out quite a bit of power. If you have never used an 800a2 I think you would really be happy if you ever get one! The 225.2 I think does around 450rms bridged & likely 600+rms since its older, which is still quite a bit. Then theres even bigger older ones like, 1000a2 1100a2 which are straight vicious! Better get some good subs for them for sure.

Kskate91, Thanks! I have not had any kicker amps yet, but I am sure they perform to there rated specs. Your ZR240 is probably better then the PUNCH 120a2, why would you want to trade? I like the 120a2 I have so I will probably keep it for now, but it is not very powerful, only does about 120 watts maybe slightly more, but not much. Mine is unfortunately in terrible condition, I did repair a burnt trace in it to get it functional, it does work well now, just dont put out enough power.

I know, I just wanted to see what your response would be. And yes my 240 is pretty powerfull the thing i like about all kicker ZR series amps is that they are stable for 2 ohm bridged. But i never ran mine in that way only kept it at 4 ohm stereo mode. I'm currently bidding on a punch 160.4 amp. Supposely only 2 channels work and the other two don't but i'll see what i can do if i win. Really nice amp collection tho.

Dont get me wrong, the 120a2 is a very nice sounding amp, it just lacks the power. Yeah, its nice that those Kicker amps are stable into 2-Ohms bridged; my CVR12s are the 2-Ohm model, so that would be a good combination. I have really been thinking about starting to part with most of my amps, not sure yet, but they just sit in boxes & I dont really need that many, keep my big ones & maybe sell most of the rest, I dont know yet. I'll say this; I love every amp I have, but my favorites are the Rockford Fosgate 800a2's. There not the most powerful amp out there, but man, they do put out some clean power! I remember hearing one on 2 MA AUDIO 12's when I was younger, & I just had to have an 800a2. I plan on getting higher power amps then that, but there still awesome.
