  • you seems to be a very handsome drummer!

  • @simontre23 lol Why thank you! ;)

  • @simontre23 lol Why thank you! ;)

  • @kindbeats i just think your video is interresting and your attitude is really sexy....sorry...its my gay side!

  • sir your drum set looks like a robot. i like it. lol

  • @cheinberger1 Hahahah! Thanks!

  • Really cool groove man. I love the cymbal as well, very different and unique!

  • very Well done Andrew!

  • hi, which technique were you using on your left hand double stokes, was it a drop-grab? by the way.. excellent drumming and instructing!

  • @LloydyFckinB Thanks! To be honest, I'm not sure what technique I use. lol I just try to let the stick bounce as much as possible. It just may be a drop-grab but I'm not really certain.

  • Wow, you're an excellent instructor and innovator, and I really dig the fact that you are drawn to unique hardware as such is the case with your cymbals. Great work.

  • @Dusarrion Thanks so much!

  • 1person couldn't figure this lesson out. Great job as always Andrew!

  • thanksbro

  • why the fuck is there a dislike???

  • Another great vid, thank you so much for recommending your channel!!

  • That sounds hot!!!, wish I could play drums, but I'm a bit limited to my acoustics at my house, so no drums except maybe electric kits for me. :( ...well I'm a bassist anyway, so I get to annoy my neighbors with my grooves. Thanks for the reply though. Drums are just an intriguing instrument that I'll always want to play but never have the right surrounding for, unless I move in the middle of nowhere. Keep posting though, Love your stuff!

  • Finally, some fucking GROOVE!! Fantastic playing man!

  • yes bro!

  • whats the cymbal that you play with your right hand on the first beat?

  • @crusharush It's a cymbal stack known as a Crash Course. It's made by Hammerax cymbals.

  • what the hell is this guy hitting?

  • @vinchenzo96 It's called a Crash Course. It's a type of cymbal stack...four individual bronze plates stacked on top of one another.

  • love your videos thancks so much for sending me your videos

  • I have been looking around to find some stuff I like and videos to help me out. I am pleased to inform you that, you have won that award my good sir!

  • @SnareTard Thanks man, and I'm pleased to inform you that I accept it with pride! :)

  • @kindbeats Thank you very much in sending me this vid...

  • love your clips man, you teach in such a good way :D breaking it riiight down, then putting it back together again is really good. thanks for uploads.

  • @vamsterr Thanks man and I'm glad you're finding them helpful! :)

  • @kindbeats :O and youve replied so soon :D haha im a metal orientated drummer, but latley ive been playing allot more groove and kind of jazz stuff instead of blast beats and double peddle XD

  • @vamsterr lol The best thing you can do is learn as many different styles as possible. And even jazz can help your metal playing! :)

  • @kindbeats the more you know the better :)

  • I take it you like Hammerax. . .

  • @NUProductions4Music Yessir! I'm proud to be endorsed by them.

  • @kindbeats That's pretty nice, some good sounding effect cymbals in my opinion!

  • Dude I'm diggin that stacker cymbal :)

  • cool thanks

  • Awesome video! Thanks for sending it! Your kit sounds awesome, and that stack- cymbal is cool! You're a good player! And these videos are really good, you really know how to play and you know how to teach all this stuff! (: cool!

  • @Jounizky Thanks! :) I'm stoked that you're enjoying the vids!

  • love those sounds

  • I think that cymbal may be good live but does not translate on youtube. It has an intense high hat sort of sound.

  • Oh that cymbal is really not my taste even tho it looks cool

  • @Jigsaw2533 It's all good. Different double strokes for different folks! ;) It's actually a stack consisting of four separate bronze plates. Hope you enjoyed the groove though!

  • Dude this is a legit tutorial.

  • only a hater would dislike this.

  • @MrWestGrand

Maybe he just missed the button.. maybe..

  • you could probably get ur cymbal sounds outta trash can lids... the hell is wrong with your cymbals?

  • @HisteriaX Nothing is wrong with my cymbals. It's called sound preference, and I prefer trashier sounding cymbals. It's all a matter of personal taste.

  • @kindbeats not saying they are terrible, they just look fucked up. and yeah i understand the trashier noises, but have some tonality to at least some of your cymbals. its not all about the sizzle. just like drums aren't all about the thud.

  • @HisteriaX My cymbals have plenty of tonality and I think they look awesome. I am only playing on one cymbal in this entire video, and that cymbal is actually a stack. It's not meant to be tonal, it's supposed to be a short, choked sound. Check out some of my other vids to hear all of my cymbals.

  • @kindbeats checked out some other stuff. you have a very unique sounding drum kits. i have to admit, there are parts of it i like, but others i don't really like. i love the tom noises. the snare has a shit ton of over tone that i dont really like. i like your style though. you're a good drummer. i'm guessing you play jazz alot?

  • @HisteriaX Thanks man. As for not liking parts of the kit, that's totally cool. We all like different things and that's what makes music so awesome. I do play jazz, but I really like to mix things up and try to find my own kind of sound. Thanks again for taking the time to check out some vids and write back. I really appreciate that!

  • this is an awesome linear groove i dig it

  • it sounds really good! imma try it out now! on my pillows.

  • Check those groovy ass grove beats :D

  • Way back "In The Day"...when Motown got popular...this particular groove became prevalent and then progressed into the Rock bands of the era. There are a number of variations on the sticking of both right and left hands as well as the kick. Its nice to have a younger cat breaking it down so that the younger drummers will learn it and experiment with it. You did good young man~!

  • @kc5tng Thanks man! Both your words and support really mean a lot to me. I hope you keep enjoying the vids and I promise to keep bringing the funk!

  • Thank you for showing me this video - great lesson.

But do you like your snare sound? Its very trashy.

  • @BenMrZin Thanks and glad you enjoyed the lesson! As for my snare sound, yes, I personally like it the way it is. I know it's not for everyone, but I prefer trashier sounds.

  • Nice rythm guwy!

  • I really like this beat man, I'm so gonna use that junk. :)

  • Yeah man!

  • WTFF!! COOOLL CYMBALSS MAN! kick ass sound! how did you?!!

  • DUUUUUDE!!! THAT IS SO SICK!! I LOVE IT can i use this in a song me and my band are writing???

  • Fat Man, very cool! I'm a music teacher too, you got talent! I like drums, is not my instrument, but I can unterstand the difference between a good and a bad drummer,

    and you got balls!

  • Thanks for sending me the vid man. Muchly appreciated and awesome beat aswel!! XD sub me!!

  • NICE!

  • Wow you're amazing this looks really complicated. Love the beat.

  • very nice beat i will try to learn this :D

  • hey man, what the fuck brands are those symbols lol?

Im in a hard/death core band and i want the (ride, i assume) you were using in 1:50

youre a good teacher man, thanks for messaging me.

  • @Gr1zz3m Haha! I play all Hammerax cymbals and hybrids. The cymbal that you're referring to is called a Crash Course and is actually a stacker cymbal. I'm glad you dig both the lesson and the cymbals! :)

  • OMG hey dude you know LP's Numb??! I think this sequence is like the ending of it & I've always wanted to learn that one!! Thank you soo much!!

  • that only guy who disliked really needs some extra-slow demonstrations.. You're awesome at this &.. he can't be jealous!!!!!! cause you've teaching all of us!! That was an evil man..

  • wow 1 dislike, fuck those guys, your fucking legit.

  • @TheSickening4111 Yeah, I don't like that guy either! lol Thanks man.

  • I love it. I'd call it a funked-up syncopated backbeat with a kitchen sink thrown in for good measure. For good "subdivided" measure. ;-).

  • @kevjay777 lol nice!

  • Wow, this seems a bit hard BUT i am pretty sure i can get it once i practice!!

  • i loved it please continue sharing your lessons

  • @gdrum121 Thanks! Be sure to click subscribe on my channel so you can receive an update whenever I post new videos!

  • thanks for send me this!! i love it, this is my next drum beat

  • Thanks for the Email bout ur video. Good stuff. I like how you have the transcriptions, you break it down slowly, etc. Great video and keep up the good work. Nice groove and such. If I sent a video of someone playing, would you possibly be able to break it down?

  • Hey, thanks for the reference. Although I gave up drumming a while ago, I still enjoy stuff like this. Brings up nostalgic feelings, thanks ;)

  • ohohho guy it's very inspared for me . keep doing ok

  • nice! plus comment one of mines....

  • Thanks for sending this to me. Nice little groove. I could play it right away, and I was bassically waiting for you to hit that great little cymbal again. What a crispy sound! What I would do with this rhythm is to make variations after a while. But that`s me, I can`t help going "jazzy". That`s where I'm coming from. But anyway, keep up the good work, it sounds awesome what you do.

  • Great feel, groove, sounds, lesson. Subbed - although I'm a bass player

  • great video - I havent played in many years and this video is certainly very helpful, I bought half of the drum kit now :) just need the other half and I am certain that my wife will kick me out of the house once I start playing ( because Im so crap at the moment) but hopefully in a little while Ill be grooving again :) nice vid.!

  • your good, i play drums and i'm 11

  • Nice groove man. good teaching. crazy interesting cymbals for sure lol.

  • I love that beat-real cool sound. Really like the stacked crash sound.

Thanks for the info and link info. Really helps me a lot.

    Sal

  • great groove dude, ill be hitting my kit with this one

  • Awesome dude

    =)

    thx

  • pro! Love it

  • Damn cool... im going to practice ittt.. a lot i dont practice noth <D

  • sick video man - usually i dont like random youtube msgs but this one was worth it! thanks.

  • Thanks for the recommendation! I've been looking around for instructional videos, but too many of them aren't very interesting, are poorly done, or are clips of masters far beyond my skill level. This is an awesome little groove, and I like the comfortable, informal, lessons-in-your-home-type atmosphere. Keep up the good work!

  • @b3s13g3d Thanks so much, man and I'm glad you enjoy the lessons! For me the, a laid back approach is more conducive to learning. Thanks again!

  • Sweet -ass groove! Keep 'em coming!

  • @muskysnax Thanks and I promise to keep them coming! Make sure you subscribe so you get updates whenever I post a new vid!

  • is that a Trach Kat in the corner?!

  • @MATTlovesDRUMS Yessir! I use it as a Brazilian surdo. I'm actually thinking of cutting the bottom off of it to let it resonate a lot more.

  • Cool groove man!!

  • do you actually teach lessons professionally?

  • @ilovemutemath yessir! check out my website (which is listed in the video info) for my contact info!

  • @kindbeats Oh, okay, I was just wondering. I actually play, and probably live nowhere near you.

  • very nice video and very strange cymbals setup!

  • Great my friend!

  • I don't do drums but great lesson and good learning concept i subed you anyhow cheers

  • @Stringyheads Thanks, I really appreciate that and have subbed back!

  • Thank you so much for sending me this.

I gave it a thumbs up, I added it to favorites, and I subscribed!

  • @StoonCoold Thanks bro! I really appreciate the support! :)

  • i don't really like that crash course thing, but... if i were a drummer i would find that extremely useful anyways, you really can groove. i would love to hear that beat with a band or sth, neck trauma guaranteed for sure.

  • @aleksandersucharski Thanks man! I'm working on putting a project or two together, so hopefully you'll be hearing these grooves in a group setting sooner than you think!

  • Nice work, Andrew!

  • Andrew McAuley makes an endearing work for music and art in the form of drumming, an unbiased and honest way to influence new generations to return to the true feeling of making music. Congratulations!.

  • Damn bro...you got some mad skills!

  • Hey man thanks for this, real awesome stuff!

  • Where can i get one of those space man cymbals? xD

  • @xXJReonXx check out Hammerax's website for dealers. You can also get them on mycymbal.com.

  • @kindbeats Chur bruv

  • y do u have cymbals from outer space?

  • @lewisveitch because they give me an "out of this world" sound! ZING! *ba-dum crash!* Thank you ladies and gentleman. I'll be here all week.

  • cool

  • THANK YOU for sending this to me :) i loved it is... just pure awesome

  • <3 that cymbal thing... wuts it called?

  • @ElCigaroCubano It's called a Crash Course and it's made by Hammerax cymbals.

  • @kindbeats The Crash Course really hashes out with YouTube's overly compressed audio. I'll bet it sounds cool in real life.

  • cool groove, great explanation and some weird ass cymbals!

  • thx for share

  • A great beat man. Thanks for the message and seeing as you asked nicely I'll subscribe haha

  • This is great! Def glad I didn't just delete your message :)

  • @GCRokzZzZz lol me too! thanks!

  • if u speed it up a lot. it will sound like a rhythm thomas pridgen plays.

  • @ImaFez Yeah, it's pretty easy to speed it up but it loses the feel at a certain point.

  • Thanks for sending this to me inbox: very cool beat and a nice way of breaking it down for a beginner.......I'm diggin' the specialty cymbals you are using as well.

  • this is pretty cool stuff

  • cool u gots some groove

  • Are you aware that you sound very much like Johnny Knoxville? xP

    Nice lesson btw. Haha.

  • @iamherewifbeer lol I have to say that is a first!

  • @iamherewifbeer its funny cause i was watching jackass at the time of reading this

  • @tizelman thans so much!

  • @joe39363 Thanks so much! I just want to share my ideas with others!

  • Great man :D

  • Snare sounds great!

  • @MrDarinWarren Thanks man! You should see how many people complain about my snare sound. It's all a matter of preference!

  • @kindbeats I love the shell ring. I don't like dead, compressed snares. I'm a guitar player though. I have a Tama kit, and I HATE me snare. I'm looking into a Black Beauty. They're a bit pricey though.

  • VERY NICELY DONE, MY FRIEND

    5/5

  • sweet as dude

  • Dude, GENIUS groove. Thanks for sharing.
