  • Thank you very much for posting this. I used it as a guideline for taking apart my 8530. However, I needed to go a step further and remove the speakers because there was metal shavings and such built up in there, making my them pretty much useless. Took me 3.5 hours from taking off my Otterbox case, to getting it all back together and turned on. Sounds brand new now :)

  • You can change the screen and the colour of the keps bydoing the first part of the disassemble :D

  • Mine only has 1 torx screw and the place where the other is supposed to be its just a blue circle?

  • @RsRugbyMike that's a sticker they put on the screw so they know if you've tried to take it apart yourself, just put the screwdriver in it to rip it off, there's a screw under it

  • Hi guys, my >trackpad< got damaged :(. I went to a technician and he said it was a manufacturing problem, will have no fix? thanks

  • It fixed min in 30sec.

  • @AndreDr18

take out your battery and look beneath it for a small metal plate with a white dot on it (this is a screw covered with white tape) use a T-5 screwdriver to tighten this screw a bit (not too tight) this will fix non-functioning trackpads.

  • The problem I encountered was with the lens cover. the thing is glued on throughout the back surface, so in order to remove it, you have to scratch the hell out of it.

  • i will do the same thing when my phone is wrecked!

  • @itsbrad2008 *A BABY PIG D:

  • @LiiveLaughLucyy i somewhat slughtered a baby pig :S

it was in biology class, they made us do it!

  • @yzkivt YOU HORRIBLE PERSON.

    Nahh, I'm just kidding :P

At my school, we slaughter worms, but I think that I have a dissect a kitten for my senior year *Cries*

  • @LiiveLaughLucyy jajajaja thanks? xD

    na

well, if i say everything we opened in class (i'm studying biology at the university), it's been 2 baby pigs, a baby shark, fish, lamprea (sorry, forgot how to say it in english), an adult cat, a grasshopper, a pigeon, and we did slaughter some drosophilas and drosophila larvae (we cut their heads off, their "bellies", and we killed the larvae by tearing them apart xDD

and there are more animals that i don't really remember their names jajaja

  • @yzkivt OMG xD

If I went to that university, I'd probably drop out or something, I'm wayy to sensitive for all that stuff, and I have a phobia of insects, so Larvae = NO :P

Even if they were already dead, I'd probably feel them crawling into my skin and slowly murdering me xD

  • @LiiveLaughLucyy well, it's biology, gotta do it if i wanna be a doctor xD

i have a phobia for insects too, but w/e, i need to do it :/

and i'm mostly the one who slaughters everything xD

  • I felt horrible watching this. I couldnt do it to mine, even though I know what I am doing, it just hurts to see my phone being taken apart like that....

  • What if there is dust underneath the screen?

  • Why would you do that to a perfectly good phone!?

  • my god, what a bunch of retards some of you commenters are... You clearly wouldn't do this unless you needed to replace the screen or trackpad etc. and knew what you were doing. Very helpful video.

  • ;-(

  • why would one do like that, just drop into the river or something, or run over it, looks kind of real surgery.

  • why would one do like that, just drop into the river or something, or run over it, looks kind of real surgery............save the BB

  • y dah fuk would u do datt?? RE-TARR-DEDDD!!

  • Seriously.. Don't try this if you're not confident about it and you've never done it before... There's a 99% chnce it will go wrong. Mine did. ='(

  • heat the phone before you peel anything adhesive

  • THE HORROR!!

  • where can i buy that gummy part which is on the sides and on the back...he is removing it at 1:55 to 2:00...my dog ate it a bit and i want to change it..:(

  • where do you get the pry tool?

  • that's hurt me idiot

  • if the case is infact held on with sticky tape ( which is normaly what phone manufactures ues ) or any type of adhesive, please and i mean seriously do not try and just pull the part off with your pry opener tool, make sure u use a hair dryer and run it over the part u need to change on the phone for about 15 seconds, moving up and down reguarly, so it doesnt melt etc or fry the motherboard etc... then once u have done this, immedietly pull the part off, this has heated up the glue and WHALAA

  • 2nd comment -

right, i recently had the bb 8900 phone and i found this phone to be the simplist phone EVER to dissasemble, change parts and re-assemble...

i am currently changing parts on iphones for girlfriend and myself. avoid this as they are really really complecated.

ANYWAYS to the point. i am going to change my friends new 8520 housing in a weeks time, im unsure wheather or not the casing is held in with sticky tape as usual, but if it is then carry on reading for advice...

  • PLEASE READ THIS.

for everyone that is thinking of changing there housing please read the following.

i have recently had an interest in gadgets/mobile phones etc, and decided to refurbish my girlfriends old bb 8310, what a mistake i made, the older phones are very complicated and take a lot of care to change/replace housings, or anything at all. try and avoid this... please continue to read my other comment

  • Now how do you REASSEMBLE everything? O_O
