  • You can see what the Torque of a Turbo Diesel does. You can also see when the Fords Turbo's began to kick in.

  • in all fairness, that dodge was carrying a ton more dead weight. Just sayin..

  • Dodge Suxx!! Ford is The BESt in TEXAS!!!!

  • I just watched a vid where a Chrysler/Dodge technician is showing people what to do with their new diesel Ram when it runs into probs with the EGR building up particulates after long idling times. Let's not forget on Canada's CBC some months ago, the reports of the "death shake" with 2500-3500 series Rams. Chrysler sure got some new good looks, but I wouldn't put my money on another Chrysler product after what I went through some years ago. Chrysler exec's and engineers need a slap in the face

  • God, I just went back and read all these comments. If I knew as little as some of you assclowns know about FI, I wouldn't even dream of getting on the Internet and acting like I knew my way around this conversation. On SW3 at WOT he should be pluming thick black smoke. EOD

  • Ok, i posted up my truck to bust some balls in here. I have almost the same truck as the dodge in the video with the same mods done minus the CAI (mainly because a damn CAI doesnt give you any power and in a CTD engine, most filters other than OEM will let alot of damaging particles thru. dont believe me, google "cummins dusting"). I posted a video to show you what my truck pulls on my MADS SJR on SW2. Thats the 70hp tune. I walked a Fx4 Ecoboost last week on SW2. That guy cant drive or is lying

  • I am not the only one

  • My Fx2 gets 21 mpg average, you guys need to realize if you have an forced induction and a heavy foot you will get bad mileage.

  • @jaimeson5 Not in CTD i dont. I drive it to the floor everyday and still get 16. Thats in a 2500 4wd. Im not complaining lmao. Its better than the POS 4.7 they made.

  • My buddy just bought the lariat Eco... Gorgeous truck I have a 99 cummins lightly tuned and swear by them, even tried to get him to buy one. But his truck is by far faster off the line from 40 to 90 I'll kill him but then my truck gets the death wobble. Both nice trucks.. But the cummins can pull a trailer and still keep up.

  • @bryanwill19 so true, put 20,000 pounds behind both and then...... ohh yeah the ecoboost can only pull half that sorry.

  • @foolongtea and hook up a ford diesel itll walk all over the dodge

  • dodge all the way yeah ford is fag

  • CnFDirt- I like ford a lot but you are 100 percent right about MPG the best I have ever got with mine was 15 MPG on the highway

  • @kalzx Its gotta be you then, everyone else is raving about the MPG.

  • @kalzx who the fuck is CnFDirt?

  • Yeah fucking Ford and their best milage bullshit. They claim 23 mpg with the ecoboost but a 5.7 hemi gets 22. Fuck ford in the ass

  • @CnRDirt Type in "5.7L hemi vs ecoboost" on youtube and watch the results. not only is the MPG better but it's faster in a heavyer, and much nicer, truck.

  • @testy462 so thin plastic dashboards are nicer trucks? and heavier is nicer? yeah maybe for heavy towing but who the fuck is stupid enough to do that with a 1/2 ton? and who the fuck cares about mpg? haha maybe gay ass tree huggers, but if you loves trucks as much as i do its the performance not the milage buillshit. and the 5.7 has the performance i want.

  • @CnRDirt You cannot possibly sit in a Ford and then sit in a dodge and think the dodge is the nicer overall truck, let alone drive them.

The Ford rides better, handles better, brakes better, and outruns the 5.7 dodge. Even if it did none of these things, from a everyday driver standpoint (interior sound, ride, towing, etc) the Ford simply outclasses the dodge. Dodge is, and has been, the bottom truck in the big three for a while. Just checkout that resale for proof lol.

  • @testy462 Actually dodge has a nicer ride and dodge handles better, I have both so (and they are both brand new) I can make that statement and be unbiased.

  • @testy462 check out the chevy videos and how they always say that they're the best truck, notice how they don't have the rams in most of the videos, thats because the rams whooped chevy and fords asses and they were too embarrassed about it that they cut it out. and fords videos are just bullshit, they say that they have thicker material in their bolts and shit but they probably using aluminum while everyone else is using stronger metals. just because its bigger doesn't make it stronger.

  • @CnRDirt Dodge...Chrysler products are inferior to Ford and Chevy, that's a well known fact within the auto industry and with anyone who knows alot about the auto industry. i just recently checked a Used car report here where I live, based on 3 year vehicles...Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge has more probs per 100 vehicles than Ford and Chevy that's for sure. It doesn't mean everything they make is crap, but Chrysler has not had a good reputation for a long time.

  • @LongDrivesAtNight @testy462 It sounds like you are very biased. My friend has a 2010 F150 and my other friend has a 2011 F350 both ride way rougher than my 2001 Durango and my other friends 2004 Ram. The interior in fords are NOT better than in dodges. The newer fords (especially the super duty) uses very hard plastics. I could not STAND to ride in the F350 compared to my durango. Sure the new 3.5L TTs are nice, but problems with the new 6 speeds have already been coming up.

  • @clarda1 You're talking about quality of plastics, initial quality etc...while I'm talking about the mechanical side. I won't deny Dodge is getting good reviews for it's new interiors, but so what.....Ford Heavy Duty's don't have the "death shake" like what was being reported here some months ago in Dodge's. I owned a Chrysler product in the past and will not own one again due to many many probs and the lack of concern from the dealer and Chrysler Canada.

  • @LongDrivesAtNight cool story

  • No way in hell that diesel is tuned period. I have ran many diesels especially dodges and they all hang pretty good with me when tuned.

  • i am sorry but there is no way this cummins is running a 100hp tune on top of stock and its getting pulled on at the top end of the race. i have seen many cummins run way harder then that with a lesser tune. It doesnt even sound like its reving very hard when it hits its top gear almost like its dogging out, which wouldnt happen with a 100hp tune. ecoboost trucks really arent what they are all said out to be. i have beat at least 3 of them with my duramax with no tune. tuned=not even a race

  • The MPG is not what ford claims but to their credit the do say the mpg they quote is for a 2wd with high gear ratio and i have a 4wd with 3.73. that being said if i drive like i want which is pretty hard i think i get 13 in town and if i dont go over 70 on the hwy i get 19. driving on egg shells in town i can get 16 and 65 and under on the hwy it gets over 22. so i dunno how all these peeps are getting 10 something must be wrong

  • were are the cops when you need them racing is against the law

  • Comment removed

  • something is wrong with your truck if it's getting 12mpg, seriously.

  • my dads ecoboost gets up to 20 mpg 23 on the interstate. sucks on gas mileage????

  • Not fair.. It's a slow diesel.

  • Ram has finally fixed 1 of the million problems then.

  • My lies? What the fuck r u talking about I love the power of the ecoboost but it really sucks on the MPG I may be able to get 12 maybe 13 MPG but I would run the risk of getting a ticket for going to slow!!

  • Ecoboost gets around 10.5 city and that is going slow!! Eco sucks on MPG

  • @kalzx you must floor it all the time then or something is wrong. i have a crew cab 6.5' box lariat 4x4 with 3.73 gears and the ecoboost, and i average 16-17.5 around town and 20-25 highway

  • @kalzx Quit spreading your lies, my ecoboost got 14mpg city with 3500 lbs in the back and I was ragging on it at every light.

  • @kalzx You should take it to the dealer that's not right. I have a 3.7 4x4 supercab with 3.73 gears. Even when I drive it hard I can still get 14 or 15 mpg easy. The ecoboost should get similar mileage. I know sicne it has a turbo when you step on the gas it will kill mpg's but under normal driving conditions it shouldn't be that bad. There are some recalls for 2011 so maybe you have some defective parts.

  • I avg a solid 21 on the hiway. With only 2k on the o.d. All o have is a bed cover & a K&N Filter. Tho 18 was the avg on the hiway when it only had 85mi. But u might have the towing rear end tho. Causing mpg to be lower. I have the 3.55

  • @joshuaglen91 yah, really, you dont know what your talking about. just troll on!

  • Boys boys boys stop this Dodge, Ford slug fest. Fight Chevy's!!

  • Im getting about 17 MPG out of my Ecoboost at the moment

  • Now that the Ecoboost has shown it can out run a truck a thousand more pounds than its own weight.....Lets hook them both up to a 3 or 4 thousand pound payload and see who comes out on top....

Next time race a 1500 or similar class....

Its like having Delahoya fight Tyson here...

  • @mullicrk True in the weight class but a common rail cummins with a smarty jr. is a pretty powerfull setup and has the ecoboost at quit a disadvantage power wise. There is the weight factor but maybe 1500-2000lbs. The fords are the heaviest 1/2ton's on the market I believe. There are plenty of vidoes on here of ecoboot f150's wooping pretty bad on dodge 1/2 tons with hemi's also. Makes me thnk twice about messing with one with my tuned 6.0 powerstroke.

  • Sorry mpg!

  • This video is of a race this is not how I drive my truck all the time and I will tell you that I tried to get the best MPH I drove the truck almost to the point where I could have got a ticket for going to slow and the best I can get is around 14 city

  • @kalzx of course. anything that big in the city is going to get that, my ford explorers 4.0 V6 gets around 14 city. you have to do highway speed around 60 mph if you want the best mileage. guarantee at 60 mph you'll get 20-22 mpg easy.

  • Kalzx, the EcoBoost doesn't suck on gas you suck at driving it and trying to get good gas mileage. I've put 13,000 miles on my Boost and can easily get 24-26 MPG on the highway going the speed limit and can get 16-18 in the city. Have you ever heard of cruise control and slow acceleration? I can tow my 8,000 pound drag car and trailer to the track and get about 15MPG. Learn to drive before you dog the truck. If you rod the piss out of any vehicle its going to get crappy fuel mileage.

  • Listen to that river boat scream. And it doesn't drop in rpm at each shift. The slipomatic is doing a terrible job harnessing that power. Shocker

  • Just to try this tank of fuel I drove my truck like a grandma and I got 12.6 MPG!! I am fine with that I did not buy the ecoboost for the MPG

  • 29MPG is acheivable, you can drive like an average person and get 26.5, try to save fuel? u get 28-29

  • False i get 28 mpg on highway

  • I get 15.2 mpg in city

  • No I am driving it normally and I get 13MPG city the ecoboost has great power but sucks on gas

  • That dodge needs a bigger turbo, and it need to be manual.

  • No the Ecoboost will get no where near 29 MPG I am getting 12.5 city

  • @kalzx Damn you must be dogging the shit out of it. I've got a 2011 5.0L FX4 Supercab myself and I'm getting between 15 and 17 city.

  • @kalzx You are driving it like an idiot then, because most people including myself are averaging 18+

  • @kalzx i get 18 mostly city, if you do 55 on the hwy i bet you can get 29 lol

  • @kalzx A Ford mechanic told me BEFORE I bought my EB, "Don't pay any attention to the gas mileage until the programming switches over. Ford purposely has these trucks running rich during break-in, around 2500 miles."

My Supercab EB has only 400 miles on it and my average mileage right now (about 50/50 highway city) is 15mpg which is better than my 1998 4.2 V6 ever got.

  • 5.9's are limited to 3200 RPM. To go much higher, they need new exhaust springs. What's the EB limited at? 5XXXRPM? 4-spd auto vs a 6 spd auto, of course an EB will run faster. I love the 5.9, lost all faith in Ford V6's after the 4.2. Can an EB match the 29 mpg I get in a 5.9 MegaCab?

  • Now hook those two trucks together and see who wins. This is really apples and oranges, a 5000lb vehicle vs 8000lb. Agreed, my guess is that it's a truck with just a straight pipe. I run a smarty jr. and roll coal like a mad man on the 100hp setting. Put down 386hp/707ftlbs with the tuner alone. Added an intake/performance muffler and might be touching 400, not to shabby. Plus the Jr. Is meant for stock trannies, does not fuel as hard as the regular tuner even at the 100hp setting, much m

  • @purduepurdy its a v6 againts a 5.9 diesel engine u idiot that proves dodges sucks hook a f250 to dat bitch and YOU'LL SEE WHO WINS

  • @3rdkoast4life A 5.9 has 6 cylinders as well, but I'm sure you already knew that. It is a straight 6 which means they don't rev high like a V configuration. The 5.9 makes it's peak torque 1000rpm earlier than the ecoboost and quits fueling at around 3000 rpm, the ecoboost spins to almost 6000rpm. Which is why the F-150 kept pulling away at higher rpm's. It really is apples to oranges. Heavier valve springs, a programmer that fuels the Cummins to 4000rpm, the ecoboost is toast.

  • @Teeeerav ...A straight 6 can rev just as high as a V6. BMW's straight 6s rev as high as 8000 RPM. The Dodge doesn't rev as high as the Ford because the Dodge is a low-revving DIESEL.

  • @Teeeerav quick tune, intake, and cat-back on the F-150, back where we started. Local shop got 100 more RWHP out of a Taurus SHO ecoboost with just those three upgrades. Does 12.82 1/4 mile.

  • Bad filmer.

  • Yea HaHa if you listen you can hear me on the last race yelling at her to film the car

  • that was a top grade camera woman ya had there... looks like a very seenic route.... FILM THE CAR!!! lo

  • 3.5L youbetcha21

  • dude sick 3.7 ecoboost with a turbo on it! badass man!!

  • The cummins is lucky he didn't blow out another infamous dodge tranny.

  • @joshuaglen91 Your an idiot

  • @rangaman86 Really, Dodge is really the only brand that seems to blow trannys, I guess thats why used Dodges arn't worth crap.

  • @joshuaglen91 Get your facts straight, dodges tranny problems have been fixed long ago

  • @joshuaglen91 are you joking? cuz your retarded. your lucky the crappy ass ford didnt break a drive shaft. hooke a 10,000 pound trailer up to them both and then race going up a 5 % grade. see who wins then. I have never had a problem with dodge trannys, my dad has a 95 3500 12 valve thats got over 250,000 and no problems.

  • These Ecoboost F150s seem to run about 14.8 and around 93 in the quarter on average. This is not bad but I'm a little suspicious of this race because the Dodge seems to be running stock because if it's not, that's the most smoke free 100hp add I've ever seen. Anyways, it will be interesting to see how these new Ford engines respond to tuning.

  • @SirtubalotTX The tuner and the setting was claimed by the owner of the Ram truck but you make a good point about the smoke before this race we were doing some burnouts in the ram and it had some pretty good black smoke but again i am not the one that made the claim about the tuner

  • @MercuryMorrison1 if it pisses u off, yes, if not, then no

  • @lcarrasco212 Sorry it doesn't piss me off in the least bit...But you anwsered my question for me ''which was an unconditional YES gm does stand on others shoulders''. Thanks!

  • @MrTruckguy420 Oh believe me GM will come up with a way better engine pretty soon.. they like for the rivals to come up with something, then they do something better... take the sierra HD concept for example. id take it over the raptor, although i like the raptor

  • @lcarrasco212 This is a true statement but guys this IS A GOOD THING!!! Ford kinda set the pace in 2011 with all these new motors and now GM will have to answer and what this does is forces these car company to come out with better stuff and we the people are the one's that benefit the most. I do agree with the sierra HD concept this is the truck that they may build to compete with the raptor and guys it is bad ass!! Look it up

  • @lcarrasco212 So pretty much your saying GM just stands on everyone else's shoulders and takes everyone else's ideas to make their trucks.

  • @MrTruckguy420 lol just messin with yall, those new ford engines have made me start liking ford again

  • @lcarrasco212

They are the same engineers with maybe a few news one's, however, it is the CEO of Ford that knows how to run a business. Can't say the same for their crosstown rivals. Sad, really sad!

  • @kalzx my chevy will do 100 in third

  • @lcarrasco212

We don't want to hear about your Chevy Vega.......

  • @lcarrasco212 Ok that would mean you have a different gear BIG DEAL

  • Have you found anyone who can remove that 100 mph speed limiter? I am buying one soon...it'll be tough leaving my cammed 2005 F150 that can do 150 mph. I just can't handle that 10.5 mpg any longer. I have seen people getting near 30 mpg!

  • @ashtrey05 I have not and from what i have heard is ford has made is very hard to do anything to the EcoBoost even with 3.73 gear the truck will do 100mph in 4TH!!!!!

  • @ashtrey05 On the MPG to get 30mpg you would have to drive 50 mph on a flat highway with no wind the truck does get pretty good MPG but in the real world the numbers ford post it is hard to hit them numbers. I drive with a pretty heavy foot and around town i been getting 12.3 MPG if i slowed down i could get around 13 plus

  • @kalzx I towed a dual axle flatbed trailer loaded up with stuff and averaged 17.5 going 60 earlier today. There was a 20 mph headwind. Way better than my other truck.

  • @ashtrey05 In a EcoBoost?

  • @kalzx yes. I was surprised. I was getting 32 mpg doing 45 unloaded last night with cruise control. It was on a flat road.

  • @ashtrey05 what gear do you have? that is crazy

  • @kalzx it has 3.73 just like yours. mpg seems to be better when its warm out with little humidity.

  • Nice!
