@ROSE911GUNDAM Wild Parrots make horrible pets. I would say get one from a breeder or bird store. These birds are weened by Humans and are already bonded with humans. What area do you live in?

i used to have a mexican red head we cought him in the wild when he was dehydrated and hungry we nursed him back to health and kept him as a pet he learn a few words. and we had a parrot cage identical to urs. 2 years later he fly away back into the wild where he belongs i miss him great vid

What kind of breed is Barney??? How can you tell how old they are and if it's a male or female??

He is a Green Cheeked Amazon, sometimes their ago is distinguished by the amount of red on their head. It's difficult to know. As far as sex, a DNA test will the the way to go. Usually Males have more prominent red and violet than females but that is not a guaranteed way to know gender. Thanks for your interest.

oh my god! i had a parrot just like this named pedro.. had him for almost 8 years.. he died yesturday unexpectedly.. my mom has been crying non stop.. we found him acting strange on the floor of his cage really weak.. then died a few minutes later.. i have no idea why.. really, really sad.. i miss him :( :( :(

its a devestateing thing when a bird dies my hear goes out to you and your mom, whatever happend at least it wasnt to long, and im sure you were more then an amazing not only owner but friend to the poor darling. =(

I have the same breed... OMG he is so annoyingly Loud. My parrot is like a little baby you cant leave him alone for one second or he will start to yell and if you Yell At Him he will start Crying like a human Baby. He also laughs like Elmo if you laugh
