Please check your advice before giving it to other people. #1: Birds in general have an incredibly poor sense of smell, #2: This would not make sense even if they did, and #3: Even if it did make sense, they don't actually do that. friendly advice , do not stroke bird's of prey , they have a natural oil on their feather's which protect's their feather's from the element's of weather ( water proofing ) stroking lead''s to the water logging of the feather's , if it is a large bird of prey , depending on which country , golden eagle , Russian step eagle , American bald headed eagle , if injured , please do not stroke , as this will be a danger to your'e eye sight , and will most certainly ruffle your'e feather's .
@ACEsk8krew19 it is illegal to own an owl in the USA and Canada for no apparent reason so u can't just buy one, but if u really want to take care of one you can go out and get training and a license to claim "guardianship" over one that they declare unreleasable which means it needs to stay under human care for the rest of it's life but you have to REALLY have a passion for owls to do all that
@AceOfVideos "For no apparent reason"... how about they are wild animals, not domesticated, even when reared from birth, because they have not been bred for it... and most are big enough to do serious damage to most people, and can even carry off your neighbors small dog, cat, or even child? I do wish Falconeering was still alive and well, but they should not be pets, and I feel sorry for the dozens of orphans created by Special Snowflakes after Harry Potter's popularity.
