Hello I have a question about the bandanna on the neck. You said you were using it before the video for tapping and sweeping and I was just wondering since I've seen other people using it, what benefit does it make to playing? Thanks and awesome cover :D

@dogwithasaddle It really doesn't do any benefit to your playing. It mutes strings from being able to ring out so if you make small mistakes you can't hear them. So in essence, you sound better with it on there especially when playing leads, however, it's kind of cheating and I would highly advise not practicing with one.

Mmm it's been a while now since I learned it, but I just slowed it down in Audacity and think I figured out the whole thing in about an hour or so. Figured it out... not was able to play it in an hour lol. Those sweeps took me some practice.

I just take it one step at a time and then practice what I've figured out so far, and then once I get it down I'll move on to the next bit and figure it out. So yeah I just kinda remember it lol. Actually, if I were to play this now, I'd play it differently. There's that one part where I jump like like 8 or 10 frets to hit the next note in the start of the solo and that's not how it's played. Oh well...

To make an expensive guitar look like white trash. Lol jk, I was using it for multiple string taps before I filmed this video. It helps keep string noise down. Most performing guitarists who use string dampening use a hair tie or something. For example, Luke Hoskin from Protest the Hero in the beginning of "Sequoia Throne".

I was using the bandanna for multi-string tap riffing before I recorded this and forgot to take it off. It mutes open strings so they don't ring out if you're doing stuff like that or sweeping. Guitar players with perfect technique shouldn't need one lol.

I did play the whole song and then cut the vid, this was the first and only take and other parts were sloppy so I didn't feel like doing it over again. I might if I have patience...but probably not lol. I'll be completely honest and say that the downpicking in this song requires stamina that I just don't have at this point which is why I just decided to cut it down to the part that sounded half decent.
