Kindy - they were orphaned as cubs, so it is either survive here, or die in the wild. because their mums were killed, they were unable to learn the skills needed to survive in the wild. So it's either survive here or die in the wild. The choice is yours...
I saw the bears today. A very nice play. One was playing. It's great there is a place like this for them!. Thanks from Phil and Brandon Fletcher Surrey, BC Canada
Like animecard said, they are rescued bears. Their mothers had died and they were found alone in the wild near death. Instead of letting nature take it's course they were taken to Grouse and raised there. They have no way of surviving in the wild and this enclosure helps teach people about bears. Educate yourself before commenting.
Y'all are dumb. They were rescued. Go up and hear their story instead of being lazy idiots on your computers. Their area is actually pretty big! They can go away from the people if they like.
Absolutely disgusting!!!!!. I would like to know who gave anyone the right to put these poor bears in captivity they are all our bears and they should be free to roam their own habitat SICK people who put them their and shame on all you for watching
Do some research before you talk. Classic YouTube dribble. And that goes for you to 44rider! I agree using them for profit is petty at best. But they would have not been able to survived on there own.
You fool, their mother was killed. They would be dead otherwise. Both of them are in a extremely intensive rehabilitation program that will take years.
I think animals in captivity for entertainment is deplorable, but this is for their well being.
Why would you want to be that close & that unguarded around one of natures most dangerous & unpredictable animals? I'd say anyone would be pretty stupid to be there and even more so if you bring children. Especially if you don't know what you're doing.

You're right.
Their area has 5 acres. They have much space and a shelter to protect them during the hibernation time.

Actually these two bears would have been dead otherwise.
One was found wondering nearly dead dut to starvation, it was suspected his mother was killed by a speeding motoritst - probably from the US.
The other was rescued after a German toursist reported a hunter (photo evidence available) shot the mother bear dead. The cub was later rescued.
The hunter received a prison sentence and a fine.

I in no way think this is a good thing. They escape and are spectacles. I am embarassed at this Tourist trap mentality,
Crappy P.R. stunt I've relocated bears and this is ignorant and irresponsible human greed.
