You have such good control of the car. I envy you, because for me, this game is VERY difficult and I always turn out last on every race. It's really frustrating. I know i suck at playing games in general, but grid just takes it to another level of hell for me.

grid runs and LOOKS better on 1920x1200 and 4MSAA vs. 1280x1024 and 16msaa csaa or smthng...

i think it will manage medium high, depends a lot on which CPU u have also, i dont think an 8600GT is very good card but im sure u should be ok cos the engine for this game is very good!
