Interesting story: J was sent 2 a hypnotist in Santa Barbara 2 lose weight B4 filming "Get Happy." She was back in 2 weeks, less 20 lbs! Blocking the dance, the male dancers noticed a sickeningly sweet odor on J's breath; the sedative/hypnotic "Paraldahyde." J began mumbling accusations about an older crew member who she claimed had been after her body since her early days at MGM. When he was within range, she high kicked him in the teeth, & then went on to perform the # brilliantly in 3 takes!

I had just finished reading about this picture and it really came out how Gene Kelly really stood by Judy and would not add on to the complaints about her because he felt such affinity for her for her help with Me and My Gal.

Great movie! Gene was an a amazing dancer.

And I would kill people to get Judy`s voice!
