One thing I realized through this video: Although the machine has enough processing power to display both warning crawl and Travel Forecast scroll without freezing or stuttering, the WeatherSTAR4000's timing begins to lag. The Local Forecast starts out on time but ends 5 seconds late.
This might of been one of the early cable systems that just started to use the EAS.
From what I remembered in my area back in the '90s whenever there was severe weather or if the city was doing a siren test, our cable company used to automaticly cut the signal off with static and play a really loud whee-woo like sound through the TV audio for a few seconds and then turns the TV off automaticly. (We've must of still had the EBS). We had the EBS up until 1998 when we first got our EAS.
@Fyuzseion But it did play a short glimpse of the SAME buzzer sound. They would aways play three short buzzing sounds at the end of any alerts. 1994 was also the first time the FCC started using the EAS (it was used nationaly until 1998).
Why does it say "40" at the end of the severe weather ticker? The only thing I can think of is that's the interstate highway that goes through the area.

@WeatherSTARIII Actually, That's not EAS. It's a brief transmission directly from NWS Little Rock.

Whoa, the alert tone scared the hell out of m esince I had my volume up.
Never expected to hear it like that. I've never heard a voiced warning on TWC either.
