I think I prefer the slightly more "slicker" version of this one that came on in Pertwee's later years, and most of Tom Baker's run. The 1980 version with the starfield was pretty lame, and they all have dated terribly except for the original version, and version 2. The version that came after the starfield one (for Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy) was just appalling, showing the degradation of the show in general. John Nathan-Turner ruined the original series.
Finally! something to credit the previous works, the earlier music and the original doctors! This new stuff has nothing on the music and actors of the previous decades.
This is Tardis-Dr.Who from the above defunct BBC album(LP no REH462/cass no ZCR462)which features the TARDIS arriving with the untreated scream into the signature tune which in the middle and goes on then after the first middle eight features the TARDIS appearing in one stereo channel then flying over to the other and fading out for the end of the last middle eight section and to the familiar melody line and final bridge to the end and final windbubble(hisses/grated plucked string).

I'd really like to hear some of the incidental music from the Hartnell and Troughton stories. WHY CAN'T I FIND THEM!
