Could you tell me if you could use a stereo input instead of mono, because i'm recording drums that goes to a 6 channel mixer and out the headphone port, would it work?
I've bought that thing today... I was really enthusiastic to try try it, so i played my favourite distortion riff... I wanted to hear what i have played, so I conected the Backtrack with the mini USb with computer... I found the file into the unmarked folder... I startet the file and i was shoked... The Backtrack recoreded my riff in a clean sound instead of a distortion sound... I tried anything, but it just records in clean.... I've: amp + BT + guitar... Help, pls :("
So with the backtrack, can I do this: Record the sound coming out of my amp? Can I do this if I: Put the Amp Input > BackTrack Output + BackTrack Input > Instrument ?
If you plug it into an amp does it record from the amp? I have a line-6 spyder amp that has all the settings built in (like distortion)...would it record that?
@Riskbreakerslayer you can, but it will sound like a dist. pedal into a PA system, if you've ever heard that. line 6 suggests using modeling units like their pod series to record something like that.
Im a singer/songwriter and video cameras just dont do it for me in terms of audio. Would i be able to plug my acoustic guitar into the backtrack to record the guitar AND use the built in mic to record my vocals at the same time? or can u only use the input and mic one at a time?
please can somebody help me with this thing.when i plug the backtrack into my pc i get this aquostic sound while i'm using a big fat distortion, the guys at the guitar center said use gearbox.i did and yet still no result,to me it seems like this thing is user unfriendly.
if you plug your guitar into the backtrack, and then the backtrack into your amp, it will only record your guitar, since that's the only thing going to the input. if you want to record the distortion sound, you have to send an output from the amp and then into the backtrack. but make sure it's a LINE level signal, not an AMP out (to a speaker cabinet).
i've got rec out aux guitar and headphone in ports on my microcube,i've tried guitar and rec out port and get a sloppy singnal.i'm recording trought a microcube tought.
It saves the sound files as .wav as opposed to a proprietary format, and we are not required to use a packaged software to import our music. Good thinking Line 6, common sense lives!
Jezzz, so handy that the video featured pictures comparing it to the iphone, I would never have gussed the siez of it, just from him holding it in his hand. I mean he could be a giant, or a midget so that was really smart thinking with the camparasing... but anyways, its a good recorder, I just bought one myself. The built in mic is not the best,(you get what you pay for) but if you plugg in your instrument, you will get a really nice sound. I'm verry pleaced with it.
Hello, Im considering buying this. Will be this good for me to make youtube covers with bass guitar with good audio quality ? I have good camera, but it has terrible mic. So Id mix the video with backtrack sound. Many thanks !
Yes the quality is great for audio. Definitely more than enough quailty for youtube vids. See you soon! I have an opened box backtrack w/mic that is a little more discounted. Ask Allen to see it.
hey if you connect it to your guitar to the backtrack, and the backtrack to your amp, and your amp has gain control(distortion), will it pickup the distortion or do you have to buy a pedal
The backtrack will only record the guitar in that situation. I'd pickup the backtrack+mic and just record the sound of your amp. Otherwise you have to put a pedal or pod or something into the guitar input.
what im gonna do is run it through my pedal board, so the pedal line-up would be guitar-wah-distortion-chorus-flanger-backtrack, that way it will record all the pedal sounds!
Does this device can be used with Aplitube 3 like Line 6 Pod Studio GX for real time practice?

Just received mine today. I already wonder how I managed without the thing. So many riff ideas lost in the past. Not anymore :)

chavhater94 2 years ago
i was also wondering this, and if you plug a mic in using a 1/4" cable, it will record just as a guitar or keyboard would.

would it mess it up if u put an adapter in it to plug 2 guitars into the input
brandon136462 2 years ago
it won't mess it up, but you need to have the adapter go to "mono" into the backtrack. so 2 mono female to 1 mono male adapter.

Yes although the mics on the Zoom H2/H4 are slightly better. The line 6 has more features than the Zoom.
