The word "Valencia" used in this song is not the girls name, but rather the name of the street of the girls' house. I have not met The Decemberists personally, but I know someone who has, as where I've acquired the information stated prior in this passage.

As a side note, the song is absolutely lovely; it reminds me of a lighthearted version of The Smiths

Although I do agree that indigo is in the rainbow, that was the point I was attempting to make. Indigo in the rainbow is invisible, just like the R&J reference is this song.
@Sergeanttoasty It's not supposed to be Romeo and Juliet. It's just supposed to be two family's feuding and their kids falling in love. The plot doesn't belong exclusively to Romeo and Juliet.
@surferlight indigo was added on because some scientist who was studying the rainbow's lucky/favourite number was seven, it is there it's just contraversial

We pronounce we'll as 'will'. I guess it's just one of those local world quirks where you just assume everyone else says it the same way.
