When that pink and black checkerboard shows up, that means that there is an error with the texture used on the model. Either you accidentally installed the skins wrong, or the user didn't include the model for the survivor covered in bile.

solution

1. Delete the skin files(the files you imported) and it should work

2. Lower the graphics

3. Buy a new Card

This happened to me in L4D2 when I knocked over my Xbox while playing the game.

The game couldn't find the texture for the spitter icon, so it gave me that texture where the icon should be.

This is easily the first thing you do is download the GIMP 2.6 VTFEdit then opens two files of the bill you downloaded it open with VTFEdit and copy and paste it in the GIMP 2.6 you keep the same name but you add. tga and then you pull this file is direct access VTFEdit and open and save it and replace it again in materials, models, survivor, bill and READY. This will create the sprays but you can do send me a message and I make a tutorial

@TheWolf12349 The problem is when you got Left 4 Dead 2, you didn't download the proper components to play that game functionally. You'll need to download DirectX 9 for Video and Sound to work correctly.

in vanilla L4D there are two skins for each person, a normal one and one that looks normal but with bile all over it. The skins automatically change when bile gets on you. If you make custom skins, you have to include a "puked on" skin.

It is not referring to the "_it.vmt" textures for the puke or there just arn't any. If you use my tutorial on making custom characters for l4d2 you can avoid this problem by not having an alternate texture for the vomit.. You can find it on fps banana under tutorials for l4d2.

this thing is fixed in l4d2 in l4d1 the boomer bile is an animated texture on the clothing in l4d2 the bile is a seperate model in the workspace so it will apply to anytexture

What happens is that when the Survivors get puked on, their skin changes from that you normally see to the puked-on version. Since the head, body and hand skins are in different files, they aren't affected, whereas the clothes are.

You need a custom bile skin. For example the default louis skin is black pants and a plain white shirt right? When he's boomed he turns all green. That's a boom skin. You need to download special bile skins for those two. It's kind of hard to explain but pretty basic.
