@theonlydoberman211 yeah no acually i am 15 built many computers in my time and have already been accepted to work with geek squad. i know what i am talking about in this video i was 12. programs start up when windows or mac is booted what does ram do makes programs open and start faster therefor making your bootup time faster. Yes the cpu Does MOST of the work memory makes it load faster if you think ram does nothing stick 512mb in your computer and watch it slowly boot.

further explaining it since you so obviously need a lesson in how things work, the CPU be it Pentium, core 2 duo, i3,i5,i7 has to do with how fast it boots up. the frequency it runs at, i.e. GHz, is what will help you with speeding up a boot up. the difference between 2GHz and 2.1GHz is not a lot, but 2.0 to 2.5 is pretty much double. another factor in bootup is the type of storage medium. i.e. HDD vs SSD because the read/write speeds are faster on an SSD meaning it can be accessed much faster.
