The PMCs in Iraq aren't all security. They include translators, interpreters, truck drivers, engineers, medics, mechanics, munitions disposal units, carpenters, electronic technicians, communications, specialists, etc.

They are there to rebuild and stabilize Iraq

and US & UK Casualties have been declining since they began. They aren't soldiers, they are private citizens of the coalition nations rebuilding Iraq so soldiers can focus on the war effort.
