Why for iPhone and not Android? How many systems administrators uses iPhone instead of android devices (which operating system is more oriented for admins and power users). And what he did? Connected via RDP to a (maybe) virtual Windows XP and then started VMsphere? Come on....
With the same success I can use Teamviewer or open rdp port on my firewall to that computer using FREE programs from AppStore... if we a talking about iPhone

I don't like this app because it's not very simple really... I've searched for tutorials for quiet a long time and haven't found one yet. I've followed poor instructions on how to set this thing up on their website but have had no luck at all... If anyone wants to help me out and explain what to do it would be greatly appreciated! My biggest problem is that I don't know where to get the information to put into the fill ins from. Any help?
vmware vsphere and esx server 3.x are geared towards the enterprise datacenters not small businesses that can't afford the real thing. i've installed esx 3.5 on a number of govt projects where HA , DRS and SRM are the key selling points. View is just starting to ramp up and will most likely be incorporated with many if not all of the customers already using vmware esx 3.x and above.
Actually yeah they already had that with the Xen clients.
Oh and RDP sucks in comparison.
So far all vmware has embarrassingly been able to do it use RDP and try to compare older versions of Xendesktop without HDX with vmware views with low res movies.
Its kinda funny how desperate vmware is getting to push BS. They are great at serverside, but suck hard at VDI... and they know it.
And sadly, because they are good on the serverside, they are losing people due to high price of licensing.
Citrix doing anything, never mind something half as well, doesn't exactly wow a lot of people these days. Check the annual report. Citrix ran the show in the 90s and dropped the ball, badly. Now its too late to pick it up. They lack sales and the research to compete.
View on the other hand, has only begun to climb - and has a real company behind it.

Who cares Citrix already does this. Our IT guy got everyone in our office with an i-Phone hooked up with the Citrix solution about 6 months ago. It rocks

I don't see why you guys are picking on VMware for showing a cool Wyse App?!?
monberg2000 2 years ago
i'm not picking on vmware.
i agree they are good on server side but they're freaking expensive.
and they must develop an app like View to keep on.
You're getting me wrong
