I agree ..Anette do sound better in her old band. This is more her style of singing and she has more freedom here when it comes to vocal range. Nightwish should have hired someone like Simone Simonds whose range is more like Tarja's....

I'll probably get slammed for this so go ahead and "hate mail" me, but this is horrible. I'm sorry, I love the way Anette sounds with Nightwish, but this sounds like top 40 bubble-gum pop radio, akin to Heart or Fleetwood Mac. I like Anette with Nightwish better, much harder, louder, faster, and definitely more cerebral. Sorry AA fans, dont mean to offend anyone.

Everyone has to get their start somewhere. She was also in a cover band at age 17 and an Abba cover band too, but it's all experience to where she is now and she shouldn't be criticized for doing what she had to do on the road to Nightwish.

No Alyson Avenue were a AOR / Melodic Rock Band! They were very good too! Really pleased Anette has got a chance to sing on the big stage with Nightwish she has an amazing voice!

I think they both have good voices but you can't compare them, Anette has melodic / pop singing voice and Tarja has an operatic / classical trained way of singing very diffrent styles both were their + and - points. I find Nightwish with Anette are far more commercial and accessable for non goth fans.

The acronym can mean Adult Orientated Rock or Album Oriented Rock. Its Soft Rock. The most famous AOR bands are Journey, Survivor , Bad English , Bon Jovi ect...

Of course you're right in saying you can't compare them... and the fact I prefer Tarja to Anette is just - well - a fact, only my opinion. :) Nevertheless it's a pity Tarja left... imagine, she was one of the founders! :( But hey, thanks much for the info about the AOR thing! ...Bon Jovi, you say?
