  • What does this have to do with liberals and conservatives?

You kind of shoot yourself in the foot anyway, since the "liberal" (I assume you are saying that Rosenthal is a liberal as a representative of "Hollywood") is saying that THIS VERY PRACTICE SHOULD BE REGULATED.

Seriously, I can never stop marveling at the mental gymnastics conservatives must go through to appear relevant.

  • The First Amendment says nothing about restricting speech if it is about trade. The congressman tells it like it is about the Oreos, and gave the right solution for what to do if he doesn't like Law & Order: Change the channel.

However, my question is: Why is a congressman complaining about a television program that he doesn't approve of? I mean, as editorializing that's fine, but I'm an absolutist about the First Amendment -- was meant to protect unpopular speech.

  • True indeed, Mongobobo.

  • "slapping" fascism seems like a good idea to me.

  • The most notable characteristic of a fascist country is the separation and persecution or denial of equality to a specific segment of the population based upon superficial qualities or belief systems. Stalin was a fascist, Daniel Ortega is a fascist, Kruschev was a fascist. You look like a moron. Go read a book shithead.

  • One of the most notable attributes of fascists is denying that they are fascists.

Dubya's grandfather prescott bush was a fascist, so was george sr.

prescott was part of a banking concern that funded the nazis and attempted to overthrow F.D.R.

    Look it up shit-for-brains.

  • Unbelievable!!!! You really don't have a brain in your head!! What color is the sky in your world!?!?! Do you see concentration camps in the U.S.? Well, maybe you do. Do you see Jews being rounded up by the millions to be killed? Again, maybe in your delusions, you do. For the rest of us, who have a little intelligence and education, the term "fascist" is a little bit more than an epithet, fuck face.

  • @garytelecastor If you are really that intelligent you should know that the term ''fascist'' has evolved beyond its original use and now applies to any belief wherein the reward merits the collective deceit, in other words, that the fulfillment of patriotic goals that have us tied into two wars were justified for the greater good of the American collective. This is fascist collectivism, and it is the mainstay of rightwing punditry.

  • So Lee Terry is implying that a commercial product (bought and sold) like a cellphone or an Oreo is like Republicans in congress?

Good point. Republicans are bought in sold.

The added irony is that Terry (perhaps a bought and sold GOP member?) is doing his part to help corporations profit by evading social responsiblity.

  • Oh my God, you can't be serious. Get a list of democrats campaign contributors and compare it to what they advocate and try to pass through Congress. You will clearly see that every Democrat is bought and paid for. Educate yourself.

  • Oh i agree that the Dems aren't saints. But they're whoring themselves out as a matter of competing against the GOP. It's all about the campaign warchest. You note that the GOP tends to shoot down a lot of ethics provisions.

  • yeah, Democrats are the very standard of virtue, like Bill Clinton, Hilary Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Terry McAulliffe, Tom Daschle, Henry Waxman, Barbara Boxer, William Jefferson, Barney Frank, The DNC, Sandy Berger, Robert Torricelli, James McGreevey, Jesse Jackson, Martin Luther King, Rostenkowski, Marion Barry, Abe Hirschfeld,... What comes to mind is an old saying about those who have shit in their mouth shouldn't complain about another persons outhouse.

  • Interesting video clip. It's no secret that most TV and movie producers are left-wing liberals who often try to inject their political ideologies into their shows/movies. I'll give Phil Rosenthal a pass because even though he is a liberal, he didn't do that with Everybody Loves Raymond. He kept the focus on making the show as funny as possible without any political overtones whatsoever.

  • the point made was stupid and ridiculos. You have to be functionally retarded to not understand the difference between political criticism and advertising.
