You realise it took centuries for England to finally conquer Wales and even that required the assassination of Llywelyn and a MASSIVE castle building programme. This is why Wales has more castles/fortifications per square mile than anywhere else in the world and is why nearly every town, city or even village in Wales has some sort of fortification.
