i grew up watching this on VHS too but the one i had was about 2 hours long FULL of old cartoons ive been looking them all up :) this one was my favorite next to the one about the parrot that wanted to be a sailor like his pop!

@DarkSkysify No, I never saw it on TV. When I was little my parents used to buy me movies to watch from the thrift store, and what they could find was usually old cartoons like this one. I used to watch them over and over. I also grew up watching Our Gang/Little Rascals and Jerry Lewis movies.

I remember seeing this cartoon on tv when I was very young (50s/60s). Even as a child I found myself crying. I've never forgotten it! Glad I rediscovered it here! Also interesting from a technological perspective with use of the rotoscope!

AHHHH!! I LOVE this cartoon! Used to watch it when I was younger! Now Im sixteen and I finally found it! And it I ever get it on vhs or DVD  I will definitely treasure it to show to my own children someday! :D

@tabbiecam I know what you mean. I was trying for the longest time to figure out what this cartoon was called, because I watched it when I was really really little so I couldn't remember. I always tried to explain this cartoon to everyone and no one seemed to know what it was! I love sooo much, it brings back soo many childhood memories. Im sure everyone who was a child and saw this has said the same.
