Appereantly the players that are close to "skill ceiling" don't know how to use infestors. Even Gold league zerg players use infestor for mind control on colossus and fungals on protoss ball instead of massing up corruptors just against 1 type of unit.
Funny how this isn't even an imba issue anymore, after a couple months. Now infestors just roll over colossus death balls thanks to neural parasite. Another case of imba until new builds are discovered.
@shmoo1000 Hopefully that patch doesn't go through. Neural parasite's only use was on important units, so doing that drastic of a nerf would make neural useless. They should alter neural in another way (like lowered duration, etc.).
Would be nice for roaches to have 2 armor again. Then maybe they wouldn't get raped by stim marines. Which technically roaches should counter but.....they don't.

Here's some truth. Any time you have a game wherein there are multiple races with different tool sets, you're statistically bound to get imbalance. Statistically, there will be one race with the biggest advantage that can be exploited. I admit, Starcraft 2 is probably as balanced as it can be, but Terran has a very obvious lead.
As a bronze zerg, terran is the most unbalanced race. For example, a ranged unit that can attack air and ground and costs as much as two zerglings ( marine ), WTF. btw great video
@howtokillasnake you miss something here,yea you might get 2 zerglings for the price of 1 marine, but on the other hand then you can make 12 zerglings from 6 larvae at the same time(from 1 hatch), terrans need 12 barracks or 6 barracks with reactors (which require gas to build) to do that. ex. 2 rax terran vs. 2 base zerg (very standard situation) you are actually able to create 24 zerglings at the time the terran can create 2-4 marines? and dont let me get into banelings... not so imba i think
@ptatochip marines are a ranged unit, lings are melee. even when encircled with lings, marines will win because lings can only attack the marines on the outside while the other lings just run around in circles. That's the difference. Zerg need numbers to overpower the tech of the Terran.
@DeathsHand88 but that scenario is only when the terran has alot of marines and the zerg player has a lot of lings.(which doesnt happen in the early game) but if you as zerg, scout a terran go marine then you shoudnt go lings(only). then you can get roaches, banes, infenstors. so basically it all comes down to the scouting and having good scouting essential to play zerg good, so stop whining and learn to play.

Don't forgot lower level players. The fact is the massive majority of the thousands of sc2 players are not pros and are under gold league and balance is important here. For instance, there may be something that is imbalanced which is possible to beat but it requires a diamond level of skill to counter and only a bronze level of skill to perform. I would consider this imbalanced, since it would cause unfair games relative to skill for all the leagues <diamond.

@AEgamesFtw games are not balanced at lower levels because the players are bad. plain and simple. many cannot execute a build with crisp timing much less understand what the build is meant for. Most players I came across on my way through the leagues were complete noobs which there is nothing wrong with. Every1 starts out a noob in a new game especially since sc2 is not as figured out as sc:bw. For ppl who played iccup bw, their transition was much easier, apm higher, macro harder.

I came into sc2 from sc:bw with 280 apm, 190 eapm and could just out macro, out micro, and out multitask so many players in the lower leagues. As the game evolves, it improve like bw, if you know it's history it was similar with the current "THIS IS OP, THAT RACE IS BROKEN" situation.

as someone who plays Protoss I have to have to agree with Idra and Artosis on this one... in all match-ups it is pretty much essential to have Colossi as part of your unit composition when it goes into a heavy macro game. PvT and PvZ comes down to blink stalker micro to snipe vikings/corrupters while the Col go pew pew on the ground army. PvP you get some voids/immortals/use your Col to focus down their Col before going pew pew on ground army. Seems like way too much revolves around it.
@SopaDeDinosaurio Compare Probes, SCV's and Drones. Probes can put down a building and go straight to mining, SCV's have to build the buildings and wait until it's done, Drones have to sacrifice themselve's.
Then also Probes have rechargeable shields unlike SCV's and Drones.
@Websblob if you change that then you have to change starcraft lore... but there is a reason why it is like that - Zerg can train multiple drones at once as long as there is the larvae for it and drones regen HP on creep, Terran supply starts at 11 instead of 10 and SCVs have 45hp over the 40 for drones and probes (20 shield / 20 hp) which can be the difference between getting 1 shot or 2 shot, you have to not be hit for a while before shields start recovering so micro is needed

imo the build time for hive and greater spire takes too long. it takes forever to get broodlords out, just 1 - 2 minutes faster would be fair. i dont play zerg btw. and don't nerf colossus, it would cause an imbalance in P v T and toss is definitely not op in PvT. beside that, bunkers should NOT be refundable at all, a failed bunker rush must be punished. concussive shells should cost the same like zealot-charge: 200/200. charge also requires an additional tech building.concussive s. dont.
i think sc2 is pretty balanced army wise, but it's the maps that are favoring certain races and the spawning locations on the maps that make certain units easily abused, broodwar had the same problem not a surprise to see the successor have the same fundamental issue

Here's some truth. Any time you have a game wherein there are multiple races with different tool sets, you're statistically bound to get imbalance. Statistically, there will be one race with the biggest advantage that can be exploited. I admit, Starcraft 2 is probably as balanced as it can be, but Terran has a very obvious lead.

As a bronze zerg, terran is the most unbalanced race. For example, a ranged unit that can attack air and ground and costs as much as two zerglings ( marine ), WTF. btw great video

@howtokillasnake you miss something here,yea you might get 2 zerglings for the price of 1 marine, but on the other hand then you can make 12 zerglings from 6 larvae at the same time(from 1 hatch), terrans need 12 barracks or 6 barracks with reactors (which require gas to build) to do that. ex. 2 rax terran vs. 2 base zerg (very standard situation) you are actually able to create 24 zerglings at the time the terran can create 2-4 marines? and dont let me get into banelings... not so imba i think

@ptatochip marines are a ranged unit, lings are melee. even when encircled with lings, marines will win because lings can only attack the marines on the outside while the other lings just run around in circles. That's the difference. Zerg need numbers to overpower the tech of the Terran.

@DeathsHand88 but that scenario is only when the terran has alot of marines and the zerg player has a lot of lings.(which doesnt happen in the early game) but if you as zerg, scout a terran go marine then you shoudnt go lings(only). then you can get roaches, banes, infenstors. so basically it all comes down to the scouting and having good scouting essential to play zerg good, so stop whining and learn to play.

Don't forgot lower level players. The fact is the massive majority of the thousands of sc2 players are not pros and are under gold league and balance is important here. For instance, there may be something that is imbalanced which is possible to beat but it requires a diamond level of skill to counter and only a bronze level of skill to perform. I would consider this imbalanced, since it would cause unfair games relative to skill for all the leagues <diamond.

@AEgamesFtw games are not balanced at lower levels because the players are bad. plain and simple. many cannot execute a build with crisp timing much less understand what the build is meant for. Most players I came across on my way through the leagues were complete noobs which there is nothing wrong with. Every1 starts out a noob in a new game especially since sc2 is not as figured out as sc:bw. For ppl who played iccup bw, their transition was much easier, apm higher, macro harder.

@AEgamesFtw occasionally, yes, lower level players can see obvious imba but many just jump on the imba OP train because they don't have the multitasking or skill to overcome some of those "imba" situations. I came into sc2 from sc:bw with 280 apm, 190 eapm and could just out macro, out micro, and out multitask so many players in the lower leagues. As the game evolves, it improve like bw, if you know it's history it was similar with the current "THIS IS OP, THAT RACE IS BROKEN" situation.

New maps. everything is NEW. there are bound to be imbalances. even sc:bw took 10 yrs, several patchs later to become what it is now. My argument was that at lower leagues many players cry imba without sufficient evidence due to their own lack of skill. I was only responding to your comment of "balancing the game at lower levels". Which there is no need to.

as someone who plays Protoss I have to have to agree with Idra and Artosis on this one... in all match-ups it is pretty much essential to have Colossi as part of your unit composition when it goes into a heavy macro game. PvT and PvZ comes down to blink stalker micro to snipe vikings/corrupters while the Col go pew pew on the ground army. PvP you get some voids/immortals/use your Col to focus down their Col before going pew pew on ground army. Seems like way too much revolves around it.

@SopaDeDinosaurio Compare Probes, SCV's and Drones. Probes can put down a building and go straight to mining, SCV's have to build the buildings and wait until it's done, Drones have to sacrifice themselve's.
Then also Probes have rechargeable shields unlike SCV's and Drones.

@Websblob if you change that then you have to change starcraft lore... but there is a reason why it is like that - Zerg can train multiple drones at once as long as there is the larvae for it and drones regen HP on creep, Terran supply starts at 11 instead of 10 and SCVs have 45hp over the 40 for drones and probes (20 shield / 20 hp) which can be the difference between getting 1 shot or 2 shot, you have to not be hit for a while before shields start recovering so micro is needed

Here's the thing, coruptors have twice the HP of Vikings so they can easily fly over the Protoss army and kill the colossi without dying nearly as quickly as Vikings, that's why I think both TvP and ZvP are both balanced, and because they are zeros they just glossed over the fact that coruptors have twice the HP of Vikings... @quadron117 vikings have a range of 9 and higher DPS and can snipe colossi with minimal losses, if you don't think 8 vikings is as terrifying as 6 corruptors then you have issues, twice the hp doesn't mean crap if corruptors have very low DPS and will die before they get a good number of kills

imo the build time for hive and greater spire takes too long. it takes forever to get broodlords out, just 1 - 2 minutes faster would be fair. i dont play zerg btw. and don't nerf colossus, it would cause an imbalance in P v T and toss is definitely not op in PvT. beside that, bunkers should NOT be refundable at all, a failed bunker rush must be punished. concussive shells should cost the same like zealot-charge: 200/200. charge also requires an additional tech building.concussive s. dont.

i think sc2 is pretty balanced army wise, but it's the maps that are favoring certain races and the spawning locations on the maps that make certain units easily abused, broodwar had the same problem not a surprise to see the successor have the same fundamental issue
