i saw a documentary, and it said that the intruder would have passed a door to the outside, on the way from jonbenets bedroom to the basement, why not go straight out the door (think it was butlers kitchen door) to the outside, why try exiting from the basement? this is suspicious to me. the basement was far more difficult to leave the house. they could have gone out any door but actually passed one on way to basement

The police found rough drafts of the ransom note in their waste basket -- what killer waits until he is in the house of the one he wants to kidnap to write the ransom note? There were no footprints in the snow leading up to the basement window that had been broken. There are many other idiosyncracies of this case that point to it being a family act.
